The only things that would be a surprise would be -

No "Final Destination" style deaths
No "gay for a day" affairs
No drugs
No explosions
No over the top acting
No over the top storylines

Somehow, I can't see this happening!

A planned pregnancy? Someone finishing a relationship and being unattached for a while before embarking on another relationship? The introduction of few intelligent, interesting, witty, likable characters? I can't think of anything else they could do that would surprise me.
