Hi I would like some advise please, we have seen a cat out and around for the last couple of weeks, anyway we saw a lady feeding it the other day and said oh your the owner for her to reply no its a stray I have been feeding it, anyway because im soft I have took her in and took her to the vets to see if she is chipped and to be dewormed and it was confirmed she is pregnant as I thought she was,
I have never had a pregnant cat before so im slightly worried she is pretty big and her nipples are large, I asked the vet how old the cat was and how long till she gives birth, he was very vague so im left to try and find out.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me when they start to nest and any other tips? im due to move house soon so had to put that on hold till this little one gives birth, people have said to hand her over to a shelter, but I decided to keep her where she is for now, as she is the sweetest cat ever and I don't want to cause her anymore stress by moving her, also she hasn't indicated she wants to go out she is happy just sleeping on my bed all day and cuddling upto me at night.

only problem is I have an 18 year old female cat who is a house cat and I don't want to upset her or stress her so I have had to keep the pregnant one upstairs for now.

if anyone could give me any advise I would really appreciate it, also when do the kittens start to move around so its visible? iv cleared the bottom of my wardrobe out and going to get a cardboard box and lots of towels and newspapers and put it in there soon..

That's very kind of you to take her in, she sound's like a lovely cat.

My nephew did this exact same thing last year, the mother gave birth to 6 kitten's. I would ask him about it but I hardly ever see him.

Here's some good information

You will be doing that just by having this cat in your home, personally I would have found a home for the pregnant one or a rescue space where they would responsibly rehome the kittens and make sure they are neutered and have their vaccs and have the mother neutered as my house cat would come first.

Not necessarily, they're all different and they can get on well.

In the long run they may but in general adding a second adult cat, let alone a pregnant one to a household is going to cause issues especially with a resident house cat

General advice on integrating adult cats is to let them get used to one anothers scent by swapping something that has scent on it - bedding or a towel that they have slept on. You can also get them to scent mark by having them rub their cheeks on the towel.
Next stage would be be let them see each other but not meet - have a child gate or similar to keep them physically apart, first off do this when they are feeding so they are pretty distracted anyway.
Finally let them meet, but make sure there are plenty of escape routes for each cat.
I expect the resident cat would be tolerant of any baby kittens anyway. Feliway spray or plugins should help too.
