Could Hollyoaks surprise viewers with live episode for 20 anniversary in October 2015

Hollyoaks could be planning a surprise live episode for their viewers what do you think? No other soap did that. 😊

A soap insider was asked about this and said it would be almost impossible given the way the show is filmed. I also don't think the actors would be able to handle it, to be honest.

Yeah I thought the same about Emmerdale before they did it. I think if they pull together this could be possible to do one. They use one camera to film in normal days they can get more cameras of Channel 4 for the live episode. I know the sudio could be to far they could get cars to get the characters to each scene. 😊

There is no way the current cast of Hollyoaks could cope with a live episode, surprise or otherwise. It would be suicide to attempt it.

Haha what makes you think this? Do you seriously believe for some reason this bunch of actors have really forgetful memories? Honestly.

I hope they don't do it because people like this won't allow them any mistakes. If one actor fluffs one line this whole forum will be calling for the show to be axed like its the crime of the century. They'd never win.

You do know they are actual actors and not random people off the street? Its one thing to say Hollyoaks are bad actors - not true - its another to suggest they're incapable of delivering lines. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest they have trouble remembering their lines. In fact with five episodes a week there's probably so little time for rehearsals that they have to get it right first time.

Aye Hollyoaks cast wouldn't be able to cope with a live episode. Imagine that lot trying to remember their lines? Comical.

Don't really see the point of live eps other than watching in hope that someone fluffs their lines. It's been done to death, time to move on.
Also its ludicrous to think they wouldn't be able to handle it.

What's the point, the show is pathetically shit and people are turning off in droves.

Yes, I do, thanks. You do know that there's more to acting than remembering lines?

Why would they forget how to act just because it's going out live? They are filmed live. The only difference is the show goes through editing.

The point being made is that a lot of them can't act in the first place.

An actor who is, to put it politely, not very accomplished - and that applies to most of the current Hollyoaks cast - is likely to be concentrating too hard on remembering their lines and cues to be able to put anything else into the performance (assuming they could even at the best of times). If they make a mistake of any kind, there is no retaking the scene, which will inevitably cause nervousness. And lack of editing makes a huge difference.

According to Sam on Tumblr, who has lots of backstage knowledge about the show, a fully live episode would be incredibly difficult for Hollyoaks to pull off purely because of the way the show is filmed. They use a single camera technique and the sets are built in such a way to allow this.

If Hollyoaks going live would this not be already announced by Channel 4. I hope they reveal the news soon. 😊

It would depend who they featured in it. I'm sure many of the more experienced actors like Jeremy Sheffield, Nikki Sanderson, Nick Pickard, Alex Fletcher, Jessica Fox would be fine. I think people like Anna Passey would be too.

But yes, some of the others (Freddie) could struggle a lot but then could it be that much worse than we get in normal episodes?

As others have mentioned, it will be the difficulties of single rather than multiple camera filming which would make it nearly impossible.

Exactly. He's said on a few occasion that the front doors of a few sets don't actually lead to where they are supposed to go. The inside set to some building are no where near it.

It just wouldn't work.

There is another reason why live episode is likely to go wrong

Spoiler
It could be interrupted by a Domino's delivery

If they do I will watch just to take the p**s out of their acting
The last I saw that Tegan fell over and DRAMATIC music she called Cameron, turned off because I was horrified by the horrendousness of it
