Shirley would be possible with the Pete/Pat links, tenuous I know but they are on the same family tree (I think!)

Cora, Elaine, Pam, Les & Claudette, Carmel all fit the right age and could have known Kathy when she was younger.

Easy to think she used to go to the same clubs as them.

Apart from Les (and that's a long shot), I can't see how any other males would know her.

Cora, Elaine and Carmel all lived outside of Walford. Les and Pam didn't live that far away and while Les shagged Pat and did a few funerals there has been no indication that they were close to anyone on the square,

The Hubbards on the other hand have supposedly known the Mitchell's for years so it's possible Kathy may know them

I know that she's not a regular these days but there is a possibility that Kathy may have crossed paths with or at least been aware of Mo Harris given that she lived in Walford when Kathy was younger and was connected to Pat.

Les will know Kathy in passing as we know he organised Pete's funeral - he recognised David and mentioned it to him when discussing Pats. Given that, it's possible he was the funeral director the Beales/fowlers always used so involved with Lous, Arthur's etc.

Hardly makes them best friends but he is liable to remember Kathy from those.

I think he is the only possibility though. As mentioned, Cora, Carmel, elaine aren't local to Walford. Kathy had virtually no contact with Pat from Pete's divorce until her turning up in 1986 which is the time Pat was mixing with the wicks. Given Kathy and Pete had virtually no contact with David and simon because Pat and Brian made it so difficult, they're hardly going to have been mixing with Brian's extended family.

Yes, he did Pats. That was the first time we saw him on screen. He mentioned then he'd done Pete's then. As that will have been organised by ian and Pauline, it seems likely they'd used him before (in my experience families do tend to stick with the same funeral directors provided they haven't mucked up the first time used) with the most recent family deaths being Arthur and Lou. He probably did Marks as well.

He probably only mentioned Pete's because he was david's other parent and had been there, unlike his other relatives.

Yes, she asked Phil what they'd both looked like, guessing they were blonde, pretty, glamorous and as such, she wasn't his 'type'. It was after their non wedding.

Kathy and Sharon were both elephants in the room during Shirley's relationship with pohil, making her feel inferior and insecure. I think the only reason that sharon got more open resentment from her was that she was more of a threat as she was still alive so had the potential to return and have Phil chase her again whereas Kathy wasn't and perhaps she knew better than to slag Kathy off too much as she was Ben's mother.

It'll be a real test as to whether shirley is really over Phil by how she treats Kathy. If she takes an instant dislike to her, snarling and sniping from the off as she did with sharon, I say it stems from jealousy. If she is truly over Phil, it should be an issue and she should be reasonable with her.

ETA. Her asking what Kathy had looked like implies she never met her and as i said earlier,, I really don't see why she would have. David didn't even recognise her when he returned and said he barely remembered Kevin as they'd had little to do with each other. If David, who was Brian's adoptive son didn't mix much with his cousin, why on earth would Pat's ex husband's new wife? And i really doubt Kathy was out clubbing much as a teenager given how young she was when she married Pete and had Ian. She wasn't the kind of wife/mother to go out on the piss every night so unlikely they crossed paths that way either.

Yes, given the way they introduced Ronnie and roxy as knowing everybody really well despite never having been mentioned it is easy to believe they would have met Kathy during her marriage to Phil. Billy as well.

That could make sense, Mo and Pat had a large history together and like Pat, Mo could have known other Albert Square residents in Walford. This begs the question, will Fat Elvis have some connection to Gavin or Kathy? Although we're still waiting for Ryan and even Shabnam being raped took a year to come out, DTC never teases characters or introduces someone for no reason.

I can't remember if she was mentioned in that conversation or not now. Likewise Lisa although they would have met by then and of course she probably knows that Lisa never really came up to scratch in Phil's eyes.

If Les did Kathy and Nick's fake funerals Pats might have been fake too.

I can't wait to see Dots face when she sees Kathy again!
