You ought to look up something by the late Mexican-American singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez (she went by just Selena as a recording artist). She was a household name with Latin audiences in the States.

True Mexican music is mariachi but I guess for a themed party no one minds the watered down tex mex stuff. Same for food which is nothing like true Mexican cuisine which is very varied depending on the region. I lived in Mexico many years ago.

And no Mexican party is complete without a piñata which can be bought in toys'r us now and great fun for both adults and children . Fill it with sweets and hang it from a tree, It's our variation of pin the tail on the donkey but you use a stick instead of a pin
