Obviously trying to boost their appalling fta viewer figures before the next lot of rights bidding.

I saw an article about new Irish deal for European Rugby, wanting single pay broadcaster and a FTA broadcaster.

Could BT bid for a similar deal in the UK? Meaning Showcase being the FTA option?

BT won't want that as they paid top £ for basically it nearly all behind a pay wall. If they insist on regular FTA then the price paid goes down loads - sadly can't see this happening as football seems to love the pay tv coins.

But we do have FTA European Football.

I was mentioning that Ireland will be getting FTA European Rugby (shared between Sky and BT in the UK).
If European Rugby wanted similar in the UK, would they accept BT as a FTA provider?

Interesting that they haven't shown Arsenal in the first five games, so presumably saving their appearance for the dead rubber at Basel.

Also listing BT Sport Score Saturday afternoon 1445 - 1700, presumably to rival Sky's Jeff Stellings Gillette Soccer Saturday or BBC Final Score - can't imagine many takers !

Not going to happen. It's clearly now going to be a sky V bt battle for the rights. It's all about money in football sadly.
