Anyone know how this channel is rating? Can't say I've watched it at all, tbh I forget it exists.
I guess we always knee this channel was going to be a load of rubbish. I guess the only real sports channel on Freeview is Motors TV with ITV4 in 2nd place. |

It's very clever from BT actually, as everyone will want to watch Bayern v Arsenal on the Wednesday. I'm quite happy to bet anyone that on matchday 5 we might see the 6pm between Qarabag v Spurs if people want more notice. Then they'll hope by Match 6 Celtic are already out and they can put a meaningless 'dead rubber' game on then.

It's going as I expected with BT showing little interest in this channel and making little effort to promote any "free" sport. I guess BT are just doing their best to not confuse the message how you get European footballm

Before current contract, was talk of a FTA package and ITV4. Prem Rugby seem to be mentioning these games themselves. BT I Think should bite the bullet, get a deal with ITV and during ad breaks CL Sponsors and BT would be only adverts. |

I really wouldn't be surprised if BT did what Sky did and churn out a news channel FTA for a couple of years. This would allow them to host their 'quota' of events on one of their own channels. They could then spend all day selling their live coverage across their pay platform. Once successful, they could make that a pay channel (like sky did) & put an average FTA entertainment channel on all platforms for their 'quota events' like sky did with Pick TV.

To their credit though, BT are showing more than the bare minimum number of football matches and, as we've seen above, they've also been showing Aviva Premiership rugby matches. That is more than Sky have ever done even taking into account those occasional free taster weekends.
As for the rugby, maybe it's a bit better as its above and beyond. However are these extra games that are just being provided to be broadcast on BT? |

Only stumbled across this channel tonight. Do they ever put any Bundesliga or Serie A games out on it?

But, they indicated as rights came up or were renewed, FTA options would be negotiated. |

When it wad launched it was primarily for UEFA Champions League and Europa Lesgue.

I reckon they will have it as a full time channel in a few years once there subscription base is as high as it will be. The picture quality is dire though. Why not just show it in HD ITV use so the channel looks silly. No need to hold back on HD they are ahead of Sky having Super HD 4K. |

Was at work, but think from what I hear, last nights match may have been a more important match than BT wanted to give away free.

Yet, oddly enough, on the goals show they majored on the one match were it quickly became clear that is was all done and dusted while tight matches of real interest were being contested everywhere else.

I watched the first half, but the extremely poor picture quality and Michael Owens inane babble had me switching by half time.
Just watched the highlights of the second half on ITV HD a little later instead. |

Why is the reason for that strobing, flicking effect that appears along the white lines on the pitch. It ruins the match viewing experience.
