Why on earth would you want it to be brought back? It wouldn't be the same show and it's unlikely to happen because it's regarded as a flop which cost a lot of money to make.
Are you mad? What on earth for? The show was AXED. It was given the CHOP. It went in with a BANG and out with a whimper.
The best thing the Spanish can do if they had some sense is to get a joblot of bulldozers and flatted the monstrosity so we are forever safe for a nightmare reacurrance of that crap.
You have me on tenterhooks here, still their what? Embarrassment, Achilles heel, total failure? Stop keeping me in suspense. Oh, hang on, could you possibly mean THERE, as in still in place?
I still think that the premise of the show was great but it was just poorly executed. This was through no fault of the producers or writers though. The BBC only have themselves to blame for messing around with the original idea. There's a documentary on YouTube (some of which appears in the video in the first post) called The Rise and Fall of Eldorado. It's really interesting to see how it all went pear shaped. There were some really good and established people involved (Tony Jordan, Corinne Hollingworth, Julia Smith & Tony Holland) but the BBC decided they wanted some sort of pan European soap they could sell abroad and it all went tits up.
I agree with CPW - the original concept of 'Little England' was very good but it was mucked around with and put into production before they'd sorted out the teething problems such as the sound problems. Also, with the best will in the world, it was always going to be hard to sell multiple characters speaking in a second (or even third) language and their acting being very stilted because of it. That said, some of the worst performances were by the Brits - yes I'm looking at you Fizz.
it also had a lot of unrealistic expectations put on it - everybody, including the BBC expected another instant hit like EE had been and that is actually pretty rare. Most shows need time to find their feet and build an audience.
It was getting better in it's last few months but it was too late by then.
I wouldn't be too keen on a. Revival though. It was an experiment and ultimately a doomed one.
