Not one of those items listed are bugs, user error and/or exaggeration maybe (nothing unusual for DS) e.g. images in epg, broadcaster not providing the info, HD available flashing, it does not flash.

Couldn't agree more. The basic functions of a very good PVR are there,it just needs tweaking in certain areas. It seems certain posters just like to knock it,and probably have never been within a mile of a 4000T.

The skip capability requires the elapsed time to be highlighted.

During playback display the timebar - eg by pressing play/OK button, with this on screen, and the elapsed time highlighted you can skip fwd/back using the cursor right/left buttons.

Suspect the skip problem posted is operator error.

Nope, not Operator error. Pressing the OK button on some occasions positions the choice to those just below the time line requiring the up arrow to be pressed before it will move along the time line with the R/L button.
Nigel, we can all read the manual, this doesn't mean that the machine necessarily always acts accordingly.

What you need to get used to is the fact that not everyone is willing to accept this particularly shoddy implementation of Freeview Play as, in anyway, good.
I respect the fact that you think it's an excellent machine and I'm glad you are happy with it, however, implying that someone will 'knock it' without having experienced it, is not only stupid, but, actually proves you haven't actually read the thread.

I'm not sure why you are getting upset because some don't like the box's implementation. Each to their own, you can post as much positivity as you want, it's your prerogative, but it would be nice for everyone, if you gave the same respect to those who dislike it.

Your posts suggest otherwise. Shame, as I'm sure you could be capable of a constructive conversation if you weren't busy trying to prove something that isn't really apparent in your postings.
What is it you are very well informed about? If you have some knowledge, that could possibly help with the 4000T, I would be happy to find some positives that would make the box a little more bearable. Especially as it would seem the current competition has issues that would make a swap pointless at the moment.

You may well be right in some aspects,and could be wrong in others,but calling other posters stupid is nothing short of offensive.

Come on guys settle down. There are far more important things in life than to get hot under the collar over a PVR. I think the problem is, a lot of us were expecting something special with the first Freeview Play PVR to hit the market place and were slightly let down by Humax according to some people who are entitled to their opinion.

does the fvp-4000t when you set up series link recording does it put it in a folder in your recordings like humax hdr-fox t2 plus I have a usb stick with videos files on it in folders does it show folders it is in or does it just show video files with out the folders.

Yes it uses folders for series recording same as the HDR FOX T2. Unlike the HDR FOX T2 you can't create your own folders.

Re-read the post, I didn't call anyone stupid. I merely pointed out you had made a stupid (and yes, offensive) statement, suggesting posters were making things up because they didn't have the box.

Back on topic.....I removed a USB stick from the side of the box this evening. After watching a 10 minute video, the stick was excessively hot. This is just increasing my concern that the cooling of the box may not be adequate and result in an early death. Obviously, only time will tell, but a concern, none the less.

I had 2 of them one for the living room and one for the bedroom. One of the boxes started locking up and I noticed it was very hot so I decided to disconnect all the cables. The aerial jack was very hot so I do wonder if there is a over heating problem myself to.

I decided to return mine. I liked the fact it had three tuners and was faster than the Tivo but they were the few things I did like. I was not happy with the EPG and feel it could look much better weather that is down to Humax or freeview play themselves I dont know. The box just did not feel like the finished article to me.

Perhaps with some software updates this could be a good box but for me it is not where it should be for the latest model but that serves me right for trying to be an early adopter and not leaving it a while so all teething problems can be resolved.

However the over heating thing could brick the box anyway.

I only had my box for a couple of days before I took it back for a refund.
I came home from work and thought I'd watch a couple programs I'd recorded the night before, went to turn the box on and noticed there was no red light. I thought the plug had been turned off but it was still plugged in and could hear a slight buzzing noise coming from the box.
Seems it died at some point during the day. I wonder if the lack of a fan could be causing some overheating issues.

There are still some bugs namely I have my box connected by Ethernet, always wire equipment where I can as has better connection, yet when I go in the guide and try go backwards it states I need an Internet connection, warm it is connected I checked in the settings and have had to go via the on demand player which on first looking doesn't seem as tho works as there no icons stations iplayer etc....

Also any news when the remote record app will b available

Another bug that's been bugging me is that when u switch channels it shows the number in the top right corner but the programme information is for the channel you changed from, sure it should tell you what's on on the channel you change too.

No problem here. Shows the programme number chosen,and the same information shows for a couple of seconds once channel changes.

Same here, mine is 1TB model, also have a issue with not being able to come out of Standby (watch something already recorded), whilst recording. I have posted on My Humax Forum.

The first pic is from bbc1 to itv, next is bbc2 to bbc1 and last is bbc1 to bbc2. As can see always shows previous channel information... Mine is also the 1TB model
