Three tuners is a great bonus, along with the promise of Netflix in a few months. But why oh why no Amazon or NowTV? I would love to have 1 box for everything.
I may wait until the new Panasonic boxes come out, but their drawback is having only two tuners. I'm not sure which is more important to me yet...more apps or three tuners. |

Argos now say they are selling these but say they only have two tuners which is obviously not correct.

Typical, no knowledge of their products, I'm afraid you get this a lot when you go into stores, makes me mad.

I read a write up today which said: Three tuners so you can record 2 while watching one. So stupid because I can do that anyway on my DigitalStream PVR. There are other sites which have the specs. all wrong as well.

They've been announced and indicated they would be on sale this month, but I've not seen them available anywhere yet. NowTV is a long-shot, but they definitely have Netflix and Amazon.

I thought I had read with 3 tuners you can record up to 4 and possibly watch a fifth.

Can you add padding or set fixed time recordings? If not it will never make my shopping list.

With just 3 tuners how can you record 4 programmes and watch a 5th live? Must at least 2 channels you're recording from be on the same multiplex?

Although the Fox T-2 was a good machine from what I've read on these forums, and my limited experience of one of them, current models have problems that shouldn't be there. It's no good having 3 tuners if it is troublesome, this is a mass market product not a geek's toy. I suggest people wait until things have settled down before they purchase one.
This currently running thread is about one model from Humax. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2110258 |

Day two with the FVP-4000T,and all is more than well. Just checked all players including Demand 5,and everything runs great. I've had a few PVRs over the years, and this one is hitting all the buttons for me. Said it before, but the HD PQ is the best I've ever seen. The box has a few quirks to get used to,but if you're thinking of purchasing,I'll just say go for it,and you will not be disappointed.

only thing up to now that im a bit disappointed about is that the guide does not have a video window. Do any other owners know if the epg still works without an internet connection as I not got that far yet? I am thinking of getting rid of Tivo which is why I got this machine up to now and this is a very early first impression it is faster than the Tivo.

I bought one of these yesterday to replace a failing FoxT2. First impressions are that the UI is awful.
There doesn't seem to be any way to produce folders. (May be a deal breaker!!) There is a setting for instant replay and skip forward timings, but no obvious way of implementing the sodding thing. Missing an 'I' button for programme info. You have to press OK twice then wait for the info to appear. Layout of the remote leaves a lot to be desired. I have the padding set to 'Auto' and it's got the whole programme on the few I've recorded so far. I'll post more + or - as I find them...... I'll give it a few days to see if my muscle memory improves the experience. OH is not impressed as compared to the FoxT2 it's complicated. |

I am also suspicious of the John Lewis 2 year guarantee and its effect on the price guarantee. |

I have a FOX-HDR-T2 also. Do you know if I will be able to transfer my recordings onto the FVP box? Also, does the guide have a Search function to find upcoming/past programmes in the EPG?
