whatever the real reason for booting out someone so soon , it's shambolic

Launch did break 2m+.

So far:

Launch- 2.22m
Friday- 1.55m
Saturday- 910k
Sunday- 1.17m

All over the place at the moment, but I think it'll be back up to the 1.4m stage this week, we'll see. Bank Holiday seemed to have ruined everything.

X Factor was down to 6.4m last night

maybe i didn't make my thought clear
i reckoned it would break 2 million due to perceived weak competition [by me] and it did

That is just plain dreadful for a celebrity series.

It is, but Bank Holiday and all, BB usually drops quite a lot on those weekends. As does things like X Factor becsuse they both have a young demo.

In theory it should be back over 1.4m tonight, I know that's poor but it won't go any higher than 1.5m I don't think.

As someone who has been away since the series begun and has caught up on it all since coming back, I'm sure it'll recover over the next week. I think the bank holiday affected a lot of things. Look at the X factor for example, that was 3 million down on last years launch weekend!

Perhaps viewers are just getting tired of the excessive focus on Farrah's irritating "drama" and the obnoxiousness of Jenna and Janice.

Perhaps, but if that was fully the case, why would last night be the highest since launch|? Obviously the BH weekend had it drop a lot. It was up 420k on Sunday.

On last summer, not very well, except for last nights show which was the closest it has gotten. For example:

First Sunday of CBB14-1.90m
First Sunday of CBB16- 1.17m

But then...

First Monday of CBB14- 1.65m
First Monday of CBB16 (last night)- 1.59m

thanks for that , i think it needs to be at least close to 1.50 m every week night
under 1.2 just looks awful for cbb

Since last summer's (Gary Busy) had the lowest series average of any CBB ever, it's doing quite poorly if it can't even beat that.

If it weren't for Farrah and Jenna it might even deserve to do better.

CBB climbed again last night a little as it received 1.62m incl +1, the highest since launch.

Round up:

Launch- 2.22m
Friday- 1.55m
Saturday- 910k
Sunday- 1.17m
Monday- 1.59m
Tuesday- 1.62m

Quite some boost there when you look at the terrible weekend numbers and the climbs from those last 4 days. Don't want to be pessimistic but I don't think it will climb any further, I'd be surprised if it does. Would be great to see it at the 1.7-1.8m stage by Friday's eviction but don't think it will happen.

Think some tuning in were expecting an eviction not Burrell going in

May climb slightly with it being a nominations episode AND the first evening of the shopping task tonight

Possibly, but Emma mentioned at the start that he was going in, so people seemed to want to stick around and knew there was no eviction.

These ratings are just poor. Whether it's the knock-on effect of an awful civilian show or a general decline in interest in the format remains to be seen at the next CBB in January.

Yes, the ratings for the next winter CBB will be interesting. The last summer CBB had the lowest series average of any CBB ever. The low ratings for summer CBBS suggest that there isn't much appetite for even more BB after the regular series ends and that viewers need time to "recharge" their interest.

So the long gap after this summer's BB was an interesting experiment. It worked for me. My interest was recharged, and I was even starting to like this series ... before I realised how much of the coverage would be devoted to the likes of Farrah and her "drama".

But the gap also provides another excuse if the show gets even fewer viewers than last year.

don't think it will affect january considering last summer's cbb was the lowest rated ever at the time and the following january series was the highest on channel 5

It's not that bad. It was horrific last weekend but now they are between 50k-80k down on the last summer. It's not good, it's just OK now, especially when programmes either side of CBB is getting 500k and 700k. No matter what, it still looks great for C5 when everything else is flopping.

The launch was down 140k from last summer's one, so we can't expect for this series to get higher than last summer even though it deserves it. 1.6m will be around 1.9m officially, not great, but not awful (and yes I know it's the lowest ever) but when launch is the lowest ever, we should expect the average to be the lowest ever.

Not sure if it will affect January, as Oliver already said, last summers CBB was the lowest rated, but then 4 months later, January's CBB was the highest rated and outrated it by a million viewers. So even if this series drops to the low 1m nightly in overnights, I still think January will be 2m+ easily in overnights.

CBB's competition tonight doesn't look too bad, with a one-off BBC1 Sue Perkins documentary about poverty in India, two new series on BBC2 and ITV (a documentary about women's roles in society and a cop show) and Channel 4's One Born Every Minute. They'll all documentaries whereas CBB is different, so I think CBB can continue to build on the strong ratings of the past couple of nights.

Shopping task got very boring quite quickly on Live Feed last night but most of the audience won't know that, so there will still be intrigue. The Nightmare Neighbour Next Door will give it a decent lead-in audience by Channel 5 standards; it's one of the few factual series they show that regularly rates over 1m.

Nominations will definitely be the main event tonight.

What the hell?

I thought that the Celeb version of the show was supposed to get significantly higher ratings than the normal version.
1.17 viewers is less than what most of the last normal series got isn't it?

And the obligatory clips featuring Stevi and Chloe talking drivel about their relationship.

You do know that was BH Sundays rating yes? They had a horrific weekend but last night got 1.62m which is close to the 1.70m the first Tuesday last year got.
