CS Anna Windarse 'babbling' in the bistro
Why does tw***ish Anna always behave so disgracefully whenever she goes anywhere for her tea? She acted like a complete idiot when the Windarses and Nazirs got together to discuss the wedding, she was the same when Tim took her to Sally's for her tea, and I vaguely remember another occasion where she showed how inept she is socially.
Is Anna aware of what a total waste of skin she is, but knowing that others can do eff all about it, (they probably want to punch her but are too polite), makes them all suffer for being better people than she is? I reckon Anna has a chip on her shoulder about being a thick lowlife tramp and when she senses the contempt others hold her in she reacts by acting like an imbecile or getting really vicious. It's high time her hotel tryst with Phelan became common knowledge on the cobbles - it really isn't right that such a hateful dozy trollop's shameful secret isn't exposed when other much more worthy characters have their lives ruined when less scandalous things are revealed

BiBs : I think you've answered your own question there. Tbh, I would've thought that DS in general would be able to empathise with that more than most.
![]() Well of course, my questions were just for effect really and allowed me to launch into my own opinions about scumbag Anna ![]() I've never knowingly met another DS FM so I can't really comment on your second point, apart from to say that I'm pretty skilled (ept?) socially myself so i do assume that most other FMs would be too. |

I feel sorry for the Nazir family. Their beautiful grand daughter is bringing Gary Windass in to their family, which means they will also have to accept Anna and her sulky daughter. They must be wondering just how much worse their life can become. Perhaps Alya will come to her senses before the wedding and their nightmare will be over.

) Gary does love Alya and wouldn't want to hurt her; maybe she could be the making of him?? Anna though is an unredeemable scumbag and is sure to embarrass the Nazirs time and time again

I'm not a particularly great fan of Anna but oh dear, the hatred & vitriol directed at her on these pages far outweighs any 'crime' she has committed!! She's never murdered anyone, she isn't deliberately spiteful & nasty to other characters & misguided as she often is her actions are usually designed to help somebody else!! My only real objection to the character is that voice, which has always gone through me!!

BIB - I don't like Anna much either, but I don't see why that particular secret should have to be made common knowledge. That was between her and her then partner. I don't see why anyone else has to know.

part of her charactisation is her nervousness in social situations and her feeling inadequate |

Well Leanne's past had to be revealed to Simon recently. Don't see why Anna should get away with anything. Be great if her future in laws find out about it. Wouldn't feel sorry for Anna at all. Can't stand her! I think they should bring Phelen back. He was a great villain. And not pantomime like Callum.

) Anna be the exception? Perhaps the writers are saving this reveal for a future live show or when the ratings dip or something

Anna had Joe MacIntyre fit a new kitchen in their home, then refused to pay hmi. He was already in financial trouble and this pushed him over the ed; he committeed suicide. Then she pushed the lovely Eddie - one of my favourite characters - out of their home and replaced him with that sullen girl. Anna is a very unpleasant character, played by a great actress.
![]() As for the kitchen business I hardly think Anna bore sole responsibility for that!! All four of the Windasses we were originally introduced to were a complete waste of space: Eddie as already described, Anna the mouthy fishwife, Gary the thieving scumbag thug & don't even get me started on 'Uncle Len!!' Gary , they redeemed quite feasibly when Ted persuaded him to try the army, Eddie, again quite feasibly, ran away from the responsibility of looking after Faye (after agreeing to the adoption initially), Len just buggered off, thankfully, which leaves us with Anna who seemed happy & settled with Owen until he decided to get greedy by going into business with a guy who he knew full well was dodgy after Anna practically begged him not to get involved!! |

She hardly 'got away with anything'!!! Her liaison with Phelan destroyed her relationship with Owen, even though she only did it to get him & her clunkheaded son, Gary out of the mess they had got themselves into!! Like I say, misguided maybe but it worked & it was done out of what she felt was necessity to save her family!!

Wouldn't say it destroyed their relationship. Owen forgave her eventually. It was stupid Anna that broke up with Owen for no reason in the end. Owen deserved better anyway. Hope he's doing alright for himself where ever he is!

Ah yes, the delightful Eddie, benefits cheat, scared stiff of honest work & responsibility, whose favourite trick was stealing money from pub locals by getting them to pay subscriptions to his darts team, then faking a mugging, lovely guy he was!!

Owen may have 'forgiven' her but she never really forgave him for not seeing why she felt she had to do what shd did!! I'm not saying who was right or wrong, the whole thing was a horrible mess that played right into Phelan's hands, but, I still believe their relationship had no way back from the moment she told him & he reacted by rejecting her!!
Never mind. Surely Anna will be rewarded in heaven for her great sacrifice

And who could blame him?
Never mind. Surely Anna will be rewarded in heaven for her great sacrifice ![]() . She's a real piece of work. Her nicey, nicey, baby voiced poor silly wee me routine is vomit inducing and hideous. And her browbeaten old martyr routine is just an extension of her victim status that she clings to, always insisting that every problem or fault is someone else's fault. Someone who wants to blame it on poor Anna. It's never her friggin fault is it? LOLAnd the quote above is so funny. Poor Anna, what she had to go through for Phelan. I mean all that make up she had to take ages over, troweling on with precision and those long hours she put in straightening her hair and perfecting her lippy for his benefit, not to mention the task of struggling into Ann Summer's tackiest. It must have killed her to have to take so much trouble. And after all that, did he even bother to call? Did he heck! |

Love love love your opinion of old Windflaps. No one could have summed it up so nicely. Especially the bit about her being a thick, lowlife tramp who likes to take out her feelings of inadequacy on others by acting dopey and obnoxious or getting vicious and hurling abuse, that was so astute!
