How are we all hoping for this to unfold? How would you like it to 'come out' as such, and how what reaction would you like to see from Phil? What about Kathy's inevitable involvement - how do you think she'd take to the news?

I'm looking forward to it. As a character who has grown up on the square, I am excited for him to fully find himself - and this time, with a decent actor, too.

I'm not overly enthusiastic towards his goings on with Paul, but Jonny Labey is at least showing some potential. There's something to be worked with there, but I'm not entirely believing the character thus far.

I hoping phil will accept it this time. As it happened before he might of got his head around it while ben was in prison however prefers him with a girl but will get over it. I also hope
Ben gives him the ultimatum to accept him or never see him again.

It needs to be subtle and poignant.

I think Ben should batter Phil with a glistening 10 foot dildo while a Lady GaGa Impersonator called Patrick Fitzgerald sings Born This Way in The Albert.

I think that might be a little too subtle

I find this whole thing really strange- he came out, everyone knew he was gay. He was out for a while as well, though his love life was pretty dead. I understand that prison frightened him, and I think that Phil would believe he was suddenly straight, but everyone else? I mean I know that, really, it's only Abi and Phil who truly believe it, but wouldn't people be calling him out on it? I know Jay's tried, but not very hard? It's weird and I don't get why they've put him back in the closet- the drama is going to feel a bit anti-climatic with Phil given that it's already happened before.

I also think the actor playing Paul is awful and it's not helping with my suspension of disbelief re. this story. It would be much better if Ben were involved with someone interesting with whom he had even an iota of chemistry. Harry Reid is great, though. He's wasted in that 'relationship'.

You may be right. I've always been told I'm too tasteful for my own good!

I think Kathy will be more accepting but Phil will take it badly again. I hope he is more understanding this time.

Phil and Abi are the only ones who think that Ben is gay and they are both going to react very strongly about it. Phil is going to be Phil but I think that by this time, Ben would be completely done with him(especially if he finds out that Phil knew that Kathy's been alive all this time).

Abi, well she's going to officially lose it. She'll most likely make sure that Paul ends up in a hospital or something thus her going on her inevitable breakdown.

Phil walks in on Ben and Paul shagging in Ben's room.

Paul : "Is it in? I can't feel anything".
Ben : "Dad! It's not what it looks like!"

Phil's face turns red as he clutches his chest in agony.

Phil : "HELP ME!"

Jay's head appears from behind the covers, in between Ben and Paul.

Jay : "Awkward...."
Phil : "F*** it. I'm done".

Phil drops dead from a heart attack.

Paul : "Yay! A corpse! Always gets me in the mood. Time for round two?"
Ben : "YOU NEED SLAPPIN' DOWN!"

closets or coffins?

I don't find it strange at all , Ben want his fathers approval and while Phil was tolerating his sexual orientation the last time , he was far away from real acceptance . Then Ben goes to prison , probably the last place where you want to be openly gay, especially if you're someone like Ben (physically more on the weaker side of things)
I think Phil and Ben are sort of in a don't ask , don't tell situation right now . Both know his relationship with Abi isn't real but both want it to be.
And the rest of the square can't do more than tell Abi that he's gay (maybe at one point it will sink in ) and Ben that's OK to be gay . They can't force him to publicly date Paul .

I didn't like Paul at first but now think he's OK.

When Phil and Ian were having their conversation two week ago(?) Ian kept telling him that Ben is gay Phil was ver in denial about which kinda surprised me and makes me think that he going to be a complete ass to Ben when he finds out.

Remember when he first got with Abi he said to Ben "i thought you were.... to which Ben interrupted and said something like " nah not anymore". It was as if Phil had those years of Ben being in prison to deal with it.

Hopefully it will be soon, it's a bit of a ridiculous story to be honest.

Literally everyone knows he is gay except Phil and Abi who are just in denial about it. Ben even told Abi what was up and she still stayed with him.

If people are shocked again when he comes out then I'll eat my hat.

I've always wanted to witness somebody eating their hat so let's hope people are shocked although I very much doubt they will be

I'd like Phil to accept that Ben is gay but It won't happen, Phil will most likely lose Ben when Kathy returns. Harry Reid has been great I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when Kathy comes back. Paul I'm not sure about him it's still early days so I'll wait and see, his diabetes has been mentioned a few times I'm guessing he'll have a hypo and Abi won't help him.
