Corrie's LIVE episode is next month...
Any theories as to what it might be about?
It will be airing next month and we still don't know that much. The shows 50th anniversary week was absolutely fantastic, and the LIVE episode was fairly strong. It's all being kept very quiet. I hope it delivers. I enjoyed BGT week this year and the few weeks after, but feel the quality has dipped a lot since. |

Well it was said that Callum & David have a live 'showdown' but after the mess that was Carla v Tracy I'm not holding out great hopes.

I cannot believe that it is next month. There's zero buzz, zero anticipation and absolutely nothing that we are currently seeing on screen feels worthy of taking centre stage in a live episode... not that it has to be on the scale of the last live episode, of course, but SOMETHING meaty, surely?

This live episode is going to be such an anti climax, there has been no build up whatsoever. And if it just a David and Callum showdown, there is really no point doing it live, they may as well save the actors some stress and just do a normal episode.

What's the point of a live episode in September?

Why can't it be a character driven one.... Like a lock in it at the Rovers with the oldies reminiscing about the old times.... Or do explosions and fights only make good TV these days

Stuart Blackburn said it was going to be an 'Unmissable Summer' in the build up to the live episode, well i'm still waiting Coronation Street is so boring at the moment.

Blackburn can't keep anything quiet so I suspect it's a run of the mill episode with David v Callum and Andrea & Lloyds leaviing party in the Rovers.

Maybe Fiz & Tyrone find out Hope has cancer...
Oh god, I wonder if Fiz is actually in this episode?! She was awful in the last one! |

After seeing Emmerdale's latest stunt preview I hear Blackburn is trying something similar with three boxes falling onto Cathay's head this time.

It's actually quite scary how quickly it's crept up, with no signs of anything interesting going on.

i see the live ep like this
the opening credits play as normal and we open to a completly empty street, not a person in sight. Blackburn walks out onto the middle of the street and looks around "where is everyone!" he turns to see the cast and crew lead by William Roache walking toward him. they would walk in like this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ryjaUHj25N...-SMF-PRSMF.png (minus the suits ) when they reach him they absolutly rip into him about how dire the show is and how he is attrocious as a producer and that quite frankly a apple could do far better job than he has. all in front of the loving audiance! this causes him to run away with his hat and never to be seen again like Miss Trunchull in Matilda Then William Roache turns and goes "Who shall lead us now out of the Darkness?!" A voice calls out "i will!" They all turn to see Daran Little (sorry ive i misspelt) descending from the heavens like an angel! and Corrie is saved once more! ![]() CUT TO SOAP AWARDS 2016 Corrie wins best moment for this

The show is such a mess right now, that I'm not getting my hopes up for anything special for the Live episode.
Nothing on screen is big. Callum and David has been running for about ten years now and not once has the plot proved anyway entertaining or dramatic. The return of Kylie hasn't improved things and I fear we are in for a love square situation. Andrea and Lloyd are leaving we know that much, but that is hardly gripping stuff. I hope after the Live, Stuart Blackburn brings an end to one the worst tenures on Corrie I've ever seen. |

ITV should have let ED do this instead, they would have been amazing, better than ITV's so called 'golden goose'. Golden goof more like, under an idiot who couldn't produce gas efficiently never mind a soap

I enjoyed both of the previous live offerings (not including the 60's episodes of course), in 2000 and 2010. I'd like the idea of Sally and Tim's wedding to be the live episode or if not Christmas. But none of the other potential offerings that have been suggested so far interest me too much (A Callum and David showdown or Andrea and Lloyd waving goodbye). It might surprise me and be quite good, but i'm not holding my breath.
