I'd like to know why Kym Marsh and Anthony Cotton seem to be CS's unofficial spokespeople
Who care's what she think and why has she even been asked? |

Who care's what she think and why has she even been asked? I thought Sarah seemed to get better and would agree no matter who you are having your first scene with Rita must be nerve wracking. Plus if you see Sarah in interviews and other stuff she has done recently you can see she clearly has a nerves/anxiety problem or is still getting carried away with the drugs/alcohol. I cant decide which i think but think its nerves. Shame she didnt have longer to prove herself other than a couple of scenes at most in the four episodes as you could tell in last nights ep she had calmed/settled down a bit. P.s I know no one will agree with me as it might get in the way of the irrational hate |

Who care's what she think and why has she even been asked? Probably a lot more people than cares about yours or mine!! Why was she asked? I would have thought that was plainly obvious, because she's in a very similar position, ex band member appearing in Corrie!! I am not going to get mixed up in a heated, "I hate Kym Marsh" debate as I don't, & that old chestnut has been debated to death, but she has just as much right to come out & defend Sarah Harding as the rest of the world has to pour vitriolic criticism on her!! |

Yeah she needs lots of practice but you only get better when you've done abit of acting under your belt. She was certainly much to improve on but they should of given her more of a go to get better. She is no worse than Dev, Sarah Lou, Callums girl mate, Rita, Gail or Shaun

No surprise Marsh stuck up for her, given she has a vested interest in the continued employment of washed up former singers.

Good post, totally agree and a good opportunity to mention that I think Kym Marsh and Alison King have some really good scenes together in Corrie - last night was another good example. Totally believable imo, they were both great.

Good for her. People are entitled to their opinion, but I think people were too quick to judge after one episode, without giving her a chance, because of who she is. People were too quick to jump on Sarah.

Kym is not bad but she is essentially playing a more likeable version of herself. Thankfully Michelle doesn't cheat on her husbands like Kym does.

Whilst I can't bear Kym Marsh I do love the character she plays, and I think she plays her well.
I like Sarah Harding and really wanted this to work out for her. Unfortunately, it really did come off as just a really poor effort. I agree with other posters who say her nerves perhaps got the better of her, because she seemed ridiculously stilted in every scene, no matter who she was up against, be it Rita or Robert. Personally I don't remember Kym being that bad when she first joined? This casting really did play into the hands of everyone who called it a publicity stunt. There must be so many struggling young actresses out there desperate for such an opportunity....handing it on a plate to someone already so fortunate, simply because it would gain the show some column inches kinda backfired. The poor girl was like a lamb to the slaughter if you ask me. |

I would wager that most of the negative comments about Sarah Harding are from jealous women (yep the 'J' word again!) as are the negative comments about Kym Marsh!
I remember reading the story about the negative comments from viewers in the Daily Mail, the day after her first episode I think. The list of complaints was very telling, there was about 9 from women, and one from a bloke!! And that was just what the DM had decided to print. Will be interesting to see how many negative comments Shane Ward gets, I would bet he will get one or two, but nowhere near the volume of negative comments that Sarah Harding received. |

Sarah Harding was criticised because she was crap - it's that simple! |

I wish people would stop trotting out the cliché about women making negative comments, being 'jealous', etc. It's beyond tedious!
Sarah Harding was criticised because she was crap - it's that simple! for users to compare her efforts to that of Tina O'Brien is really is an insult to Tina. Her character might be abhorrent but the actress is more than capable IMO. |

Sarah Harding has been OK and criticism of her has been way OTT.

The Girl Band sisterhood at work!
When your dodgy singing career has finished where else could you look for work. Sad thing is Girl Band experience does not mean acting ability. I am most offended for all the "actors" who went to drama school, cut their teeth in rep, the auditioned will hundreds of other to win their chance on a high profile soap. Producers, please don't go down the Big Brother route by using "known" names regardless of their acting ability.
