OP having just spoken to pal who works at the Apple store in Edinburgh the staff in the shop are being led to believe that the iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will all be discontinued in September 2015 with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus as flagships and the rumoured iPhone 6c as the budget option.
He has said that this is unconfirmed and things might change but it is highly unlikely that there will be any iPhones from 2013 and 2014 being sold once the 2015 devices are released. ![]() After reading that post and knowing my iPhone 6 will probably be getting discontinued next month it has left me in a position now whether or not to sell it on eBay and put the cash towards the iPhone 6s or just keep my iPhone 6 and get the next one when it's released in September 2016, I will wait until 9 Sept and see if the iPhone 6s is worth the upgrade first like. |

Weren't iPhone 6 and 6 Plus only released last year? How can they be discontinued in just 12 months?
It is like the iPhone 5 that only had 12 months life before being discontinued to make way for the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. It makes more sense for Apple to discontinue the iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September rather than have FIVE (iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6c, 6s and 6s Plus) models available for sale. |

But that is quite irrelevant, every head to head review shows that whilst on paper the top Android phones seem superior this isn't really seen in actual usage and testing. Somehow Apple seem to get their OS to work more efficiently on their hardware than the Android makers can do with theirs.

To the OP.. yes & no.. Apple will stop production of the 6 & 6+ Around about now to allow them to ramp up 6S(+) production. I'm sure you'll still be able to get a hold of them after September though. The 5C is dead in the water.

Does that mean we shall now see some "decent" iPhone offers as they look to clear the old stock?

Apple fans should know when the next iPhone will be released. If you only got your iPhone 6 four weeks ago you should have known better. Proper Apple fans wouldn't be seen dead with last year's model. Ive seen posts like this before sadly.

My pal has said that Apple only want the THREE 2015 iPhone models available for sale in September, the iPhone 6c is going to be the "budget" option whereas the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be the "flagship" devices.

Although, strangely on this forum it is those that claim to not be fans of apple that seem to be the most obsessed with them.
