If Chrissie setting fire to Roberts car causes the Dales disaster which is set to lead to death and destruction, do we think she has a future in the village?!

No doubt she'll be blamed and villified for her actions, plus the character has proven to be something of an emotional wreck...can she handle the guilt?!

I really like Chrissie, I hope she's not a gonner.

The village is full of killers and would be killers, if anything it will help her to fit in better

I know emmerdale likes to suspend disbelief more than any other soap, but I don't see how she wouldn't get a long prison sentence when this comes out. Fans seem to think she will be charged with arson rather the manslaughter which would be mental.

Great point....I never even considered the legal implications of her actions!! But with this said to be 'a chain of events' would it be long drawn out process of placing blame?

I'm sure Robert will cover for her, then she will find out about Katie then threaten to tell the police but he blackmail her with her "Waiting to Exhale" Moment

She wouldn't be charged with manslaughter, there was no intent to harm anyone.

I'm sure she's not finished, not by a long way. She's too immense for that.

She might end up being charged with something though. Malicious damage? It's more the problem of how everyone else in the village will react to her when they find out she's indirectly caused deaths.

I blame Robert, myself.

The guilt will eat her up and then she will confess with everyone hating her but then in about a months time everyone will have forgotten about it

it is manslaughter or culpable homicide if you kill someone but there was no intent.

That's what I thought, but then someone here (I can't remember who) who has some kind of legal background said that was wrong and that there still had to be intent to harm even if not to kill. They had some long explanation and sounded like they knew what they were talking about. Well, I suppose anyone on here could say anything about themselves, but it sounded convincing.

IIRC, not even intent to harm is needed, you may be thinking of murder, where at least intent to cause serious harm to the victim is needed. For manslaughter, you need the mental element (intent or recklessness) for any dangerous crime that could cause harm. So, arson would count.

I think at one point (possibly about 10 years ago) Emmerdale had about 8 murderers all living quite happily in the village... If they don't want rid of her they'll easily keep her there

You might be right. I was sure it was manslaughter that was discussed before but who knows, my memory isn't good. It'd help if I knew which poster it was but can't remember that either, ha.

I hope she's going for whatever reason as I personally think she's a terrible actress.

No, not really - that's why there was a winkie at the end. Though he has been a very naughty boy.

I thought cyrilandshirley would blame Aaron.
Well, now you mention it ....

Only Robert saw her start the fire, he wants to stay with her (because of the money, even tho he said it wasn't about the cash).

I think he'll blackmail her, he'll make her take him back otherwise he'll tell everyone what she did. What Lachlan did with the drugs etc. He'll give her a fake alibi and pretend like nothing's happened.

Further down the line, she'll find out about Katie and will threaten to tell all but he'll remind her of what she did. Mutual blackmail, check mate.

When the actress wants to leave the show, or when the producers want to axe her, everything will come out and she'll be arrested therefore leading to her exit.

This is one hell of a thing to have on your conscience which I don't think anyone would be able to cope with and Chrissie is a very moral person anyway ..I don't think she will confess but at the same time I don't think she will be able to live with the dreadful guilt inside of her....I can see her hitting the bottle and ending in a massive break down..

I think Chas will be killed hence the new found friendship with Chrissie..this will be like another knife in her back.....

I like Chrissie I just hope the actress can cope with this high drama..
