Not their best effort but still very enjoyable.

Much better than any stunts EE gives, and that's my favourite soap.

Very rushed but otherwise decent.

That's the Brookside Helicopter crash from 2002. No CGI and really good. Must have cost a fortune. The Emmerdale one looks like some kid did it on a computer.

It was too quick, also the helicopter should have been white so we could see it going in.

EastEnders doesn't have the money for stunts on a huge scale. The BBC can't be seen to be giving away public money on such a thing.

The Helicopter looked very fake tonight. I found the one in Brookside years back more dramatic. It all went quick.

Eastenders don't really do stunts that much.

I thought the helicopter crash was brilliant

After the massive build up it was a bit of a let down for me...but I am hoping that tomorrows episode with the aftermath of the crash will be better..

It really was! The way the house collapsed was impressive, The 1993 plane crash was better than tonight's too. I think that 1993 crash will remain one of soaps most iconic stunts for many more years to come.

The Brookside 2002 one was brilliant. It had fire, explosions & slow mo effects. Whereas the Emmerdale one just shot out the sky into the village hall. It was good though. Emmerdale does stunts the best IMO. I recorded the episode & watched the crash 4 times!

But we haven't seen the aftermath yet. There will be collapses and explosions to come.

The crash itself was somewhat rushed but I'd rather than that terrible CGI like Corrie's roaring tram.

I enjoyed the whole hour, and I think there's more to come this week. At the risk of being accused of hyperbole, I ruddy well love this soap

I have dental surgery tomorrow afternoon - I'd better have my senses back by 7pm!

They'll never be able to get close to the plane crash years ago for drama. I thought they built the suspense well tonight but there's no way Cain would have let the music be switched back on

Kate Oates was right to say that this was character driven, not just a stunt. There were great emotional scenes with Robert/Chrissie, Diane/Val, and even Marlon/Rhona. The build up of suspense was fantastic and there's no way anyone isn't tuning in tomorrow to see what happens next. Job well done I say.

It'll be interesting to see the viewing figures.

Robert/Chrissie scenes were brilliant.

Completely agree. Character driven drama is always superior. This is why corries latest stunts were so poor.

The Brookside one that is oft-raved about IMO was ruined by the awful slow-mo effects.

I thought tonight's was very good.

It was ok, just looked 'rushed' - Also because I have something (Brookside crash, which is superior imo) to compare to doesn't help.

Of course. I am just going by what I saw in tonight's part of the stunt
