Well folks looks like the strain of forthcoming events get too much for Mr.Beale. Surely Kathy and Ian will have had their first scenes by the time this airs? So her re-appearance can't have had that much euphoric feelings for him with the Bobby/Max situation still playing heavily on his mind

I think Kathy returning will either be the final straw for Ian or help him in the long term. I do like that they have revisited his mental health. These things don't go away.

Kudos to Adam Woodyatt for standing on the rail of the bridge like that. I'm petrified of heights, and I'm not sure I'd be able to do that even with a harness.

he has it so good though ... mum dead, dad dead, daughter dead and killed by his own son, covering up murder, failed businesses and relationships and tormented by Phil all these years... no idea why he would think of that eh
