£11 a month for every SS channel is a pretty sweet deal. But how can TT be making any money from these kind of offers?

BT famously make nothing from their carriage of SS1 and 2, which cost almost double TT's season pass price, and without the inclusion of the remaining Sports channels Sky provide.

Presumably they make up the costs from other services including line rental and broadband and the possibility to sell further services like film rental and mobile phone.

Yes indeed, my question was more rhetorical than anything!

I wish BT could do something similar and make up for the losses with their own Sports subs, phone, broadband etc. But even if they did, just Sky Sports 1&2 is hardly as tantalising a package as all the SS channels.

BT were rumoured recently to be the first to bring SS 1&2 HD onto the YouView platform, but there's been no official news yet, and it would see, more of a compromise than a truly good offer.

Personally I would rather see BT and Sky resolve their differences and allow carriage of all the SD Sky Sports channels on BT TV, but unless Ofcom are able to intervene, I just can't see it in the near future. The two behemoths seem intent on warring until the end of time.

It is all down to BT's anti-competive behaviour!

BT just need to enter into a proper wholesale carriage deal for Sky Sports channels.

BT also need to wholesale their sports channels to Sky.

And vice versa.

Again only half a story... Sky have priced thier sports channels massively high to BT as wholesale that is why BT have not entered into a wholesale arrangement, because they believe sky have overvalued thier channels.
BT have shown they will enter into a wholesale agreement (Virgin) if the prices can be a
agreed.

BT are happy for sky to carry it's sports channels without a wholesale agreement, why aren't sky. Ah yes because BT are anti competitive..

There's only one reason they've entered into a wholesale deal with VM and that's because the majority of VM's customers already receive speeds far in excess of BT Infinity so are hardly likely to change.

Who's BT's main BB competitors who use BT lines to deliver services , oh yeah that's right Talk Talk and Sky neither of which have a wholesale agreement for BT Sport..............funny that isn't it.

After all its all about BB figures isn't it ?

RUBBISH ... BT are unwilling to pay a fair and reasonable price they want a discount!

Also, a typical distortion of truth by you BT Sports appears on the Sky EPG because it is heavily regulated and Sky are not permitted to deny listing. Where as BT are instrumental in denying Now TV access to youview!

It's ridiculous that there is still no agreement between BT and Talktalk for BT Sport. I have no idea if this is because BT simply won't offer it, are asking too much, or TT are just not interested because they have all the Sky Sports channels. Or are Sky threatening to remove their channels from Talktalk if they do a deal with BT?

Whatever, it's bad for the consumer and Ofcom should intervene, especially now BT have a monopoly on Champions League football.

Anyone know if they are doing this again for this season? Logging into my account, Sky Sports is still £30 a month but exploring boosts on the YouView box it's offered at £15 a month for 6 months which obviously doesn't cover the whole season.

Might be worth hanging on a week or two to see if they offer the season ticket again. I'd have thought they would, if only because TalkTalk have been reported to be dropping customers like hot cakes lately, not to mention the loss of numerous channels coupled with price rises. You'd expect TT to try and salvage some retentions or bring in new subscribers with a similar Sky Sports season pass deal as it appeared to be a popular addition last year.

As expected, TalkTalk are offering the Sky Sports season ticket again, where all six channels are available for £11 per month for nine months. This is for both new and existing TalkTalk TV customers.
