I think they were in The Vic announcing it. Ian came in later and Kathy told him. Ian was quiet before saying 'Congratulations' or something like that.

Ian wasn't happy and thought Kathy was too old to have another baby. Kathy was 46 at the time of Ben's birth and Ian was 27 and already married with three kids of his own. He soon came around though and was very supportive of Kathy when she was having to be a single mother as Phil was out having affairs, getting drunk and into trouble everyday.
