And this is a prime example why Hollyoaks is a joke to many?

For me, it's not the fact Patrick kissed Maxine which I could see him doing, it's that she kissed him back after all the cr*p he's put her through.

Beating her up, leaving her for dead, Stitching her up, gaining custody of Minnie through foul means to name but a few. Even if the kind hearted Maxine feels sorry for Patrick. I don't believe in reality she would go there....

Apart from that scene with MND sufferer the rest of this episode was just total crap
Yup, totally agree & I think the ending of the episode ruined it even more!!!

I wouldn't wish that disease on anyone, but I can't say I feel sorry for him. He's still a horrible person!!

I do wish the show explored why he became such a control freak in the first place.
Oh god no, neither would I. I feel like the MND is being treated as "karma" in way for how he has treated and destroyed everyone in his family and this is a way of making him a "victim". But saying that Hollyoaks have treated this story well so far.

Yes having the reason why he is such a control freak would have shown more to Patrick and like Sienna would be a layered character not just someone to hate.

I definitely think the MND has been treated as 'karma', & I also think Hollyoaks wanted to show how a control freak will cope with losing control of his body!!

Some of the MND storyline has been good, but as I've mentioned before there have still been unrealisic aspects. He was walking around for weeks with a stick & Maxine & Darren never twigged that something was wrong with him along with the other villagers (apart from those who knew like Theresa). It doesn't ring true that no-one else would find it strange & comment on his stick? I find that totally unbelievable that someone wouldn't ask about it.

Exactly, I think you have summed up why Maxine wouldn't never go back there but hollyoaks love a good twist. This storyline will have Maxine and Patrick back together and then he will kill himself or have Maxine help him so that she will get the blame and no one will believe her.

I can see what you predict happening. It seem Maxine will be the perpetual victim on the show no matter what. I lost sympathy for Maxine ever since she didn't tell the police Patrick left her for dead when she had the chance months ago.

I also don't think the twist is good. I could totally see it happening because it's Hollyoaks & makes no ruddy sense for Maxine to go there.

It definitely is. I feel there could have been a better way to give karma but I understand why. Patrick likes to be in control so to lose control of his life and everyone around him is scary. He has to rely on others which isn't something he wants.

I wish we had a reason for why Patrick is the way he is but unfortunately that requires work which is asking too much from the writers.

I looked it up in the dictionary and it just said see "Jason Roscoe."

He's too boring to be a twunt.

This is the problem with hollyoaks there isn't any "real" conversations or reactions. The whole time Rose was missing anyone that wasn't apart of the storyline didn't mention it like it hadn't happened.

I can see what you predict happening. It seem Maxine will be the perpetual victim on the show no matter what. I lost sympathy for Maxine ever since she didn't tell the police Patrick left her for dead when she had the chance months ago.
And the only person that can "save" Maxine is a knight in shinning armour, *rolls eyes*. Exactly or even at the custody hearing might have been a good place to say this but Maxine must forever be a victim.

I also don't think the twist is good. I could totally see it happening because it's Hollyoaks & makes no ruddy sense for Maxine to go there.

Agreed, there a loads of different ways for them to show Patrick losing his control that didn't have to be an illness such as going to prison and losing his entire family and everything he has worked for.

Also I can't find yesterday's thread so in just going to post it here but thanks understanding from yose about my cfs. I've only started to post in this thread and all of you are so ugh more understanding than some the people I've known all my life so thank you.

The person that played Dan Hunter was in Doctors today in main gust lead.

Here's the link to yesterday's thread sweetie, if you still want a look:
http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2096541

Hollyoaks is filmed with one camera. Which means each scene is repeated many times so they can film at different angles. The other soaps film multi camera. They also film in blocks which is why storylines rarely overlap. By doing it this way it contributes to having such large gaps in storytelling. Then with death obsessed Executive Producer Bryan Kirkwood in charge, the OTT storylines, sensationalist nonsensical twists & continuity issues, the soap is sadly dying before my eyes!!
