I really think Kathy and Ian's first scene should be better than having her appear before hr jumps off a building. Have a feeling DTC is going to ruin this storyline.
This might not be the first time they meet though, what if Ian is attempting suicide because he has already met Kathy and he can't deal with it on top of everything else. We don't know how it's gonna play out.
Don't understand how you can complain that a scene you haven't seen yet should be better. Wouldn't it wait to see the actual show before condemning it?
I suspect that no matter how a scene is written and presented some people would never be happy unless they wrote the show themselves.
The scene hasn't even aired yet and already people are complaining.
It doesn't really matter HOW it happens, it's how he reacts is important. Kathy could show up wearing nothing but a bow-tie á la Frank and it wouldn't matter as long as the reactions and dialogue/acting is good.

Man, if I ever come back from the dead that will be the way to do it!

Agreed. They're so desperate to bring in the shock factor left, right and centre that they forget about the general quality (and in this case, sentimentality) of the show.
I really wish their first scene together would be at Lucy's grave. It would be so touching and heartfelt - exactly how I imagine this storyline being.
At first I pictured their first meeting to be Ian alone at his house at night and Kathy comes, in a two/three/four hander or something. However this seems interesting, especially with Ian just being talked out of suicide. Also it seems like it's Phil who drives Kathy in his car so I'm looking forward to seeing Ian's immediate reaction here
We don't actually know this is their first meeting they could have met and Ian think's he's going mad .. along with the Bobby thing is's understandable.
I would have liked their first scene to be Kathy walking into Ian's and he's sat in the living room where Lou used to sit.
It's only her turning up and Kathy has a lot of explaining to do. They should do a 2 or 3 hander with either Kathy/Ian or Kathy/Ian/Ben shortly after her return for her to tell her sons and maybe Ian telling Kathy about Bobby killing Lucy

There's a time and place for coming back from the dead, Kathy, and this is not it.”
Debrett's Guide to Etiquette doesn't seem to have any chapters about this. Jolly poor show!

Funnily I've always imagined that the moment that they actually reconcile would be at Lucy's grave. The point where Ian let's go of his anger and accepts his mum back into his life.
