To deliver a big storyline apparently. What could it be?

What ever it is it will disappoint, I am guessing all these extra episodes are because of the Rugby World cup.

I think this is the week that Jason gets beat up by Callum's pals. It also features Shayne Ward's first appearance in the soap.

They want to be doing less episodes not more, with the recent quality output.

Probably so, they won't be 'extra' episodes just redistributed episodes.

Oh great, another Callum filled week. He isn't being used enough.

More time means less rehearsal time (have they got it down to 0 yet?) and more ropey acting...

They should be doing less episodes not more

They can't even fill 6 minutes with anything decent at the moment so an extra episode is ridiculous imo

6 days straight of Callum? Haha, someone on Corrie has got a twisted sense of humour. Are they trying to destroy the show?

Let's have a week of no Corrie and extra Emmerdale

Great news.

Not.

This is worrying. It seems as though this sixth episode is going to go the same way as the Monday and Friday doubles did over ten years ago. They started as special episodes in conjunction with major storylines but they slowly became the norm without any announcement or explanation.

As many have said, Coronation Street should be cutting back on its output, not adding to it.

As dazza89 said, it's because of the Rugby World Cup which begins on 18th September. ITV is showing every match.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop watching as Callum is ruining the show for me. I can't be the only one?!

ITV really should have thought ahead with this in regards to the Rugby World Cup and cut back episodes of Corrie and Emmerdale, not keep the same number and then give us 6 week episodes. ITV iteslf is going to kill off Corrie along with Blackburn and his muppets.

This will just be another case of 'Will X person die?'. No of course he won't.

I agree. It was much better when it was only on twice a week.
