Best soap stunt?

What do you all think the best stunt a soap has done is? Eastenders and coronation street are not the best at them although the tram crash was good. Emmerdale and hollyoaks are great at them and brookside had a few good ones too. Ild probably say the hollyoaks bus crash is the best a soap has done

Can't really speak for the other soaps but the Corrie tram crash was brilliant, really effective!! Never a great fan of Molly as a character but her face when she looked up & saw the tram coming down is now iconic soap history!! Brilliant!! Did watch the Emmerdale stunt out of curiosity the other night but it didn't come close for me!!
Corrie's other recent stunts have been poor imo, the recent fire very much so!!,)

The Corrie tram crash, the Emmerdale plane crash and helicopter crash, as well as the flood and the storm are all brilliant.

For every fantastic stunt / disaster there is however, in my opinion there's a terrible one. And that goes for each soap.

I think the Summer Bay earthquake stands out for me. This was 20 years ago when there wasn't any CGI but it was still amazingly done. And as they couldn't rely on major effects, the aftermath also stood out.

It might be the 'best' soap stunt for me but Brooksides Helicopter Crash in 2002 was brilliant. Since it got a mention I rewatched the whole siege & the crash & forgot how brilliant it was.

Like I said not the 'best' stunt but definitely up there with the best.

Loving the latest stunt in Emmerdale.......joining storylines together.......brilliant piece of scriptwriting and ideas from the production team........

Roberts sportscar goes up in flames.......next to the propane gas.......gas cylinders go off like rockets........hit a helicopter that just happened to be passing........flies on until the wedding venue..........and crash bang wallop, just as Debbie is trying to explain away the tape Ross had made of their conversation.........then all hell breaks loose......

Can't wait for the next episode.......will little Kyle be found, will Cain step up to the plate and rescue his son.......will Ross have his face flattened by the cuckolded husband.......

The Corrie tram crash stands out for me as the best stunt they have done both in terms of visual effects and the storyline and drama surrounding it. The Rovers Fire 2013 was alright. The recent fire was weak in my opinion.

Emmerdale to me seem to be the best at big stunts, of course the iconic plane crash and even though I'm not a regular viewer I thought the King's River Explosion was great. I watched the helicopter crash on Emmerdale yesterday and didn't think it was as good but then again I can only judge that on the actual stunt as I hadn't watched the episodes in the weeks before.

Emmerdale always come out tops regarding stunts. They are the best.
Corrie's tram crash was excellent too!

On the lighter side, anyone remember the 'wonderful' earthquake-Poseidon-adventure in Sunet Beach many years ago! A trashy classic!!

The 2 car stunts in eastenders where the car went in to the Thames and where Steve died in eastenders was 2 very good stunts. 2 of the best car stunts I believe a soap has ever done

LOL the upside down boat, that was terrible. I remember As the World Turns did a sinking boat story that same week and Soap Opera Digest said while SB's stunt was visually better, ATWT's actually affected story and was character driven.

Personally my two faves are The King's River Explosion followed by the 1994 Tornado on All My Children.

For me, the Emmerdale Plane Crash of 1993 still hasn't been beaten. The stunts were stunning for their time and the drama of the aftermath and rescue operation was gripping. The lengths the design department went to, to make the devastated village and surrounding area look realistic was fantastic.

The Hollyoaks mini bus crash was probably the best for me. The deaths were a surprise, although we all guessed Rhys was a goner, and Maddie's death was so shocking. I also felt like this stunt actually had long lasting effects, for example, it made Esther's bullying worse while Jacqui's downward spiral and eventual exit were, arguably, a result of the stunt. Usually soaps say that "life will never be the same again" and the mini bus crash, while it didn't change life forever, did have an aftermath. The less said about the Hollyoaks blast and train crash the better...

EastEnders Fair Ground disaster by miles, it was the, "get Den Watts" that did it for me.

The Plane Crash I thought was pretty great. I did think the Tram Crash was brilliant, but as soon as they did the Thomas The Tank Engine take on it, I just laugh when I watch it. Although I think Hollyoaks and Emmerdale are the best for stunts.
