I wish the Emmerdale producer would move to Corrie, anyone agree?

I don't watch Emmerdale usually as I usually get home from work after it has started but I watched this week's episodes on ITV player as the promo looked good and I have heard good things about it. I found it really good compared to Corrie which made me think they should swap producers so Corrie can improve. There seems to be a good mix of comedy, drama and surprises. The Corrie producer seems to tell the press everything so there are no surprises and it is so predictable. I preferred the helicopter crash to both of Corrie's big stunts of the minibus crash and the flat fire.

No, I hate it when producers go from soap to soap like a merry-go-round. They need more fresh talent.

I wouldn't mind Kate Oates from ED having a crack at CS when the time is right but Stuart Blackburn was SP of ED before KO and made an absolute mess of it all (similarly to what he's done to CS) so swapping them isn't an option.

Stuart Blackburn might be ok on HO though. Kate Oates was fresh blood and has worked wonders, so bringing in someone like her to take over ED or CS would be the best option.

No way. KO is excellent on ED, long may she stay there . As for swapping producers, you are aware that the imbecile currently in charge of Corrie was in charge of ED before KO took over, and almost drove the show into the ground? The very LAST thing ED needs is to swap producers, the sheer thought of it is enough to have you wake up screaming in horror.

Yes I would be happy if Kate Oates took over Corrie, not because I have followed her work on Emmerdale( although I have heard positive things) but because SB would be out.

No. I don't watch Corrie. Gave up long ago. Why ruin the better ITV soap?

That's a terrible idea, why people think that if one producer is good on one soap then they will be good on any show, what she's done for emmerdale is great but that's coz it works for that soap, would everything she's done on ed work on corrie, corrie don't have the space that ed have to do justice to what she's done on emmerdale, just like dtc is fantastic on eastenders don't mean he can go to corrie and automatically help the show, he's done good on ee the last time and this time coz not only is he a fan of the show but he knows the background of the show, without the passion nothing will work, that's where that fool on corrie is going wrong, he feels coz they pull in the viewers then people love his work but truth is corrie is in the worst state it's ever been and the other 2 soaps are miles ahead on quality alone. Fact

So many problems with the opening post!

Firstly, swapping producers is a big fat NO. Stuart Blackburn already took charge of Emmerdale and made it horrible; Kate Oates came in and somehow managed to save it. Blackburn then went and destroyed Corrie - ITV's own fault, they knew what he was like from his time at Emmerdale, yet clearly didn't care.

Why must 'the good people' be snatched from Emmerdale to make Coronation Street better? They should find their own talent!

Isn't pretty much a foregone conclusion that Kate Oates will move to Corrie probably with in a year or so?

But I looked at the history of SP at Corrie and Emmerdale and it seems to me 9x out of 10 the producer at Emmerdale leaves after 3 years or so then moves onto Corrie. Plus I read that Kate Oates originally applied to be SP of Corrie but they felt she didn't have enough experience so they gave her Emmerdale instead. Now she has the experience so.........

No waayyyy should Kate Oates and Stuart Blackburn swap. Emmerdale have had to endure Stuart Blackburn once before and they shouldn't suffer once again just because the supposedly superior Coronation Street can't be bothered to pull its weight at the moment.

I do, however, think Kate Oates would do really well over on Corrie once she has finished at Emmerdale and SB has finished at Corrie. I would be so excited to see what she would produce over on the cobbles after so much success in the dales.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's as early as the beginning of next year roundabout March..
But it begs the question ..who would take over Emmerdale.

I doubt she'll want to clean up after Blackburn again though

Then what happens to Emmerdale?

Unless you want Emmerdale to suffer then yes, I love Emmerdale right now she should not be going anywhere.

I don't agree. Why should Emmerdale lose a brilliant producer to a soap which has got a naff one?

Lorraine Newman is looking for a job if CS are after a producer. Failing that, I can be available too.
