Ross has left but not dead it's left open for him, the longer we don't see Ross under the bushes the more likely he has got up and walked off.

One of those memory loss storylines coming our way methinks

Exactly. They have left it ambiguous on purpose. There isn't anything that couldn't be explained away if they wanted to.

Finding an accurate pulse can be quite hard, (took me a while when I did a first aid course), Pete was very upset and stressed so could have made a mistake. Same with his breathing. Given he was exerting himself hauling a dead (pun intended) weight around in a panic he was probably breathing hard himself so could easily have not heard any shallow breaths of Ross.

Oxygen will get through those leaves and as it is Summer he is not going to die from the elements as he might in the winter.

Soaps have been known to 'mislead' via Actors twitter before so that isn't proof in itself.

I'm not saying he is alive. That blow to the head sounded pretty bad and could (perhaps should) have killed him outright but then as mentioned, so should Declan's injuries last year.

I'm not in denial. I don't even like Ross much but I don't think it is as clear cut as others seem to think.

I don't get why people think it was ambiguous?

Ross jumped into the quarry, we didn't see him re-surface and when we saw him, he was apparently lifeless - suggesting to me that he was knocked unconscious then washed onto the bank.
After this he is in a fight, gets pushed, cracks his head, is punched in the face 2 or 3 times, put in the boot of a car, I'd say for at least 5 minutes, taken out and thrown down a slope.

Now if all that had happened, he hadn't been covered up and we'd seen his hand move - it'd be unrealistic imo, but that would be ambiguous and give a very strong hint he was alive. But that didn't happen.

He's dead. The way he landed on that cement piece [a corner at that] where his brain and spine connect. He should be dead from a broken neck. If by some miracle he is still he should be paralysed.

Murderers are reputed to always return to the scene of their crime.

Pete will go and rake those leaves and there'll be no Ross under 'em.

Cain survived that attack from Zak.

Ross will survive this.

According to Inside Soap
Spoiler
Emma is suspicious and goes to the police who haul Cain in for questioning. But hopefully Cain's had the sense to get rid of the van by that time. I reckon either Pete wiil own up or Ross will return. I would bet that Emma cracks and does all she can to ruin Debbie's life and Moira's too -just because she hates her so much
