I was watching it on a tablet, and I will admit i never heard the glass slip, so didnt realise she was badly injured until they bought her out.
Have recorded it though, will watch it properly again later |

The noise of the car boot being shut actually made me jump. Like others, I will miss Val and I can't see a character to replace her at the moment. And what will happen to poor Finn now? No Val, Vic married and a nutty birth mother! Maybe he'll go off the rails?

I loved Val, such a shame she left the show. I thought her character would just go to prison, not kill her off.

i said on another thread, it was a waste in my eyes them giving her the HIV Storyline.
AS she had been there for 11 years, when they gave her the storyline, I rexpect they saw her as a character for many years to come, and would see the storyline involving the HIV play out. I must admit i cracked up at some of the lines between Diane and Val. on Finn, Eric will need him now |

I thought it was a really fitting ending for Val; I think she's a big personality and deserved a big exit, and we really got to explore all the facets of her character in those moments - making up with Diane and doing one final selfless act for her sister, and then fronting off with the mirror and daring it to get her. It was like she'd said her goodbyes and she was ready - fag in hand, greeting death like an old friend almost. I have to say, I figured she would be one of the casualties from the moment she started on about faking her own death. Now Eric will have to read that eulogy she wrote!

I wish Debbie had gone! I hold her responsible for Ross's death! |

![]() I didn't like Val but I was in tears a bit. Her I'm Hival comment and the cigarette and her last act was to save Diane Emmerdale have a great talent for making unlikeable characters sympathetic |
