What a way to go! I was genuinely shocked that Valley snuffed it tonight, but what a gloriously camp exit.

What the hell is Eric going to do when he realises that he sentenced her to death by locking her in the hall of mirrors ?
Charlie Hardwick is a fine actress and Val a character that I loved to hate. Great exit - made rather poignant by her doing the right thing for once and letting Diane out first. |

It'll be déjà vu for Eric. Whenever an aircraft lands on the village, he is indirectly responsible for the death of his wife.

Loved her line 'Diane lives mirrors and I love mazes' when asked what they were doing in the mirror maze. I loved Val, really going to miss her.

I thought that poor Ruby's death by helicopter blade was rather gruesome, but Val's fate was something else! Possibly one of the most macabre deaths I've ever seen in a soap! Shocking, yet, strangely fitting!
Val and Diane's comic two-hander scenes amidst the carnage were the perfect antidote to such a heart-stopping, nerve-shredding piece of drama! The script was beautiful and both Charlie and Liz were outstanding! I'm going to miss Val as she provided many moments of much-needed light relief. The irony of it all will push Eric to the brink and the eulogy scenes are going to be heartbreaking
