Well the character of Pete has been completely destroyed. Turning him into another Cameron would be absolutely ridiculous. Wouldn't surprise me if they did though.

I thought Pete was going to die judging by Ross' popularity

The Barton brothers remind me of the King brothers when they first came into it. Matthew had an affair with Sadie King, Jimmy's wife and Carl and Matthew had an argument which led to Matthew's death too.

But to become another Cameron he would have to have killed at least one person which has not even been confirmed yet, in all likelihood Ross is still alive as there has been no official confirmation from ITV or ED about his death.
