Conor Maynard in talks for "Strictly" new series
Brighton singer-songwriter Conor Maynard is apparently in talks to compete in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, due to start later this month.
The 22 year old, best known for hits such as "Can't Say No", "Vegas Girl" and "Turn Around" has experienced commercial disappointment recently, with poor chart positions and a lack of radio airplay. His record label, Parlophone, have supposedly coerced him into signing up in a last ditch attempt to save his recording career. An insider at the label told us, "Conor's sales have been really disappointing. Radio 1 have dropped him from their playlists and other stations have followed suit. His music isn't selling, so he needs as much exposure as he can get. His team think Strictly is great exposure for him." The new series of Strictly Come Dancing will begin later this month, with the BBC expected to confirm participating celebrities in the run up to the launch show. The Sun, 6 August 2015 |

"Strictly" presenters confirmed - no change for Tess and Claudia
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return to present the new series of pro-celebrity dance contest Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC today confirmed.
The duo have presented the show ever since the first series of the Back To The Ballroom reincarnation; Daly presented alongside veteran Bruce Forsyth before then. Zoe Ball will return to present companion show Behind The Ballroom, but professional dancer Anton Du Beke has announced he will leave his presenting role in the show. The new series of Strictly Come Dancing is expected to begin next Saturday. So far, celebrities rumoured to be taking part include Conor Maynard and Jennie Bond. |

Glamorous presenters to take to the floor in "Strictly"
Glamorous television presenters Dawn O'Porter and Laura Whitmore are set to take part in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
O'Porter, 36, who grew up in Guernsey, is apparently "very excited" to be taking part, but her actor husband Chris O'Dowd is "less than certain" of her dancing ability. Meanwhile, Whitmore, 30, is apparently in hot water with ITV executives, due to her presenting duties with the I'm A Celebrity! Get Me Out Of Here spin off show. O'Porter and Whitmore join singer Conor Maynard and journalist Jennie Bond in the list of rumoured celebrities. The series is set to begin later this month. TellyMix, 7 August 2015 |

Format changes ahead for new series of "Strictly"?
The Daily Star can exclusively reveal that some changes will be made for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, due to disappointing ratings for the last series.
Whilst we cannot confirm the exact details, changes that are thought will be made include increasing the celebrity line up from fourteen to fifteen. This will be the first time that more than fourteen celebrities have taken part since the Back To The Ballroom makeover in 2013. Voting procedures are also thought to be changing, in order to allow viewers to vote more. Currently, only one "rank" vote is allocated to each viewer; this is thought to change for the new series. However, one thing that won't be changing is the judging panel. Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli will all return to judge the pro-celebrity dance contest. The first celebrity taking part in the series will be confirmed by the BBC tomorrow. The Daily Star, 8 August 2015 |

"Strictly" set for a royal-ly prestigious line up
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing - due to commence next weekend - is to see a handful of royalists take to the floor.
The Queen's granddaughter and Olympic equestrian Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall, former England rugby player, are set to take part in the dance series as the show's first ever husband and wife duo. It is unknown whether or not the Queen is aware of Zara's participation. Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess Of York, or "Fergie", is also due to participate in the pro-celebrity dance competition. The former wife of Prince Andrew apparently "dazzled" show bosses with her "personality" and "desire to entertain". Phillips, Tindall and Ferguson join a list of rumoured celebrities including journalist Jennie Bond, television presenter Laura Whitmore and illusionist Derren Brown. The BBC will announce the first celebrity to take part in the series tomorrow. Mail Online, 8 August 2015 |

Several soap stars lined up for "Strictly"
Soap actors from both Emmerdale and EastEnders are to take to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor when its new series begins next week, reports reveal.
Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley, 45, who plays Cain Dingle, has supposedly signed up to the new series. This comes after ITV bosses finally allowed its soap stars to participate in the BBC series last year. Series three saw Kate Ford, Coronation Street's Tracy Barlow, take part. She finished in sixth place. In addition, Strictly bosses are set to take advantage of the triumph of Eastenders' "Who Killed Lucy?" storyline by signing up two Beale family members, the family at the forefront of the storyline. Mimi Keene, who plays Cindy Williams, Lucy's half sister, and Laurie Brett, who plays Lucy's step mother Jane Beale, are both set to dance in the upcoming series. Keene previously appeared in the 2014 Christmas spin off Back To The Bauble, where she finished as runner-up behind singer Will Young. The BBC will confirm the first celebrity participating in the upcoming series tonight at 10.00pm. The Sun, 9 August 2015 |

Celebrity #1 CONFIRMED
The first celebrity confirmed to be taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing is...
CONOR MAYNARD The singer, 22, has amassed five top ten hits and a number one album since his pop career began in 2012. Some of his other ventures include recording England's World Cup song last year and the release of his autobiography. Conor told BBC Radio 1 after his confirmation; "I absolutely can't wait to get started. Dancing is completely alien to me so to learn a strict routine will be tricky, but I'm definitely up for the challenge!" |

"Strictly" celeb rumours: Former Tory MP, CBeebies clown and Fergie all to take part
With just four days to go until the celebrity line up for this year's Strictly Come Dancing is revealed, The Sun has discussed all the rumoured celebrities - the good, the bad and the definite dance disasters - set to take part.
Former Conseravtive MP and Foreign Secretary William Hague has reportedly signed up to the series, having retired from politics last year. Hague, 54, apparently signed up to the show to "experience something a bit different". Downing Street have declined to comment on the rumours. Justin Fletcher, best known for playing clown Mr Tumble on CBeebies, has also signed up to the pro-celebrity dance contest. The Sun can also reveal that Fergie - albeit not the one from The Black Eyed Peas - will be taking part in what is said to be a "lucrative" deal. Joining them could be soap actors Jeff Hordley and Laurie Brett, who have both been heavily rumoured, and presenter Laura Whitmore. The Queen's granddaughter and Olympic equestrian Zara Phillips has also been rumoured to be taking part alongside her husband and former rugby player Mike Tindall, but the truth behind these rumours seems uncertain. Conor Maynard was yesterday announced as the first celebrity to be taking part, and the BBC have revealed they will announce the next participating celebrity tomorrow. The series begins with a launch show this Saturday. The Sun, 10 August 2015 |
