Craig - Week Five Performances

Lovely Craig, so great to see you again! So how was last week’s show for you?

It was really good actually - I really enjoyed it! It’s getting to that half way stage now where everyone is really improving and the pace is picking up now.

I know, it’s so good isn’t it! Right, let’s start off with Laura and Tristan. You weren’t overly keen on their Samba on Tuesday. Why was that?

I just didn’t find it overly remarkable. It got a bit lost in amongst the other dances on the night.

So you weren’t wowed by it?

No, not really. At this point I want to have to sit up in my seat and go “wow, that’s a fantastic dance.” And that’s what will get my nines and tens…

Not a tall order then is it! Well I personally loved their Samba! What did you think about Steffi and Ian’s Cha Cha Cha?

You know what - I thought it was okay. I do feel really bad for Steffi because one week she can be amazing, particularly in the Ballroom dances, but the next week she can really be quite poor.

And what was this one?

It was somewhere in the middle. She does have very good rhythm, but she desperately needs to work on controlling her limbs in these Latin dances.

Fair enough. Better to be in the middle than rock bottom! Finally, what about Jason and Katya and their Charleston?

I quite liked it actually. He’s really showing off his personality and performance skills now, and his technique is improving as the weeks go on.

Do you fancy him as a bit of a dark horse?

Hmm… perhaps. There’s quite a few front runners and then you’ve got the likes of Jason who are improving and becoming more confident every week, and then you have, well, Moira.

Craig, you meanie! Moira’s lovely!

Yes she is, and she clearly has some support, so I’ll just keep my lips sealed.

Not a problem! Now it's time for me to talk to the lovely Vincent and Flavia about our couples' progress in training!

Vincent & Flavia - Training

Vincent! Flavia! How have you both been?

We’ve been great, yea! It was an amazing show on Tuesday.

Wasn’t it just? Everyone’s getting so good! Shall we get talking about our lovely couples in training?

Yes of course!

Okay, first up we’ve got Matthew and Aliona. They’re doing the American Smooth this week and here is a small clip of them in training. Vincent, has Matthew mastered the Hollywood glamour of the dance?

Oh yea, he’s as smooth as Frank Sinatra here! He has already mastered the technique that he’s able to make it as smooth looking and elegant as it can be. This will be very very good.

Craig has mentioned his hands on occasion. Is this looking like an issue in this dance?

Well I’ve never thought of it as an issue in the first place! It’s such a small detail, I don’t think he needs to worry about it.

It’s just Craig being picky! Flavia, Mike and Kristina have the Salsa this week. Do you think they can avoid the bottom two this week, or will it be fourth time unlucky for them?

I think he’s got a chance of escaping it; well everyone does! He does still look really unconfident in his Latin dances, but one thing’s for sure, those lifts are going to be amazing.

Too right! Nice bit of armography there as well!

Yea, I think he’s got the technique, he just needs to be sure of the moves that he’s doing. And maybe just be a bit lighter on his feet!

Oh yea, good point. Right, finally we’ve got Mimi and Kevin and their Charleston. Is this as amazing as I’m thinking it will be Vincent?

I hope so! This does look like it will be a fantastic dance. They’re such a fun partnership and I think that will really come out in this dance.
