I love that The Spice Girls still get under people's skin all these years later

Well, they can't really and never did, other than Mel C IMO.
(What a former DJ friend of mine used to call hairdresser music, aka standard pop fare.)

Hardly on a par with singers like Mary Davis (SOS Band), Diane Charlemagne (52nd Street) and Jane Eugene (Loose Ends).

It's ironic that by far the least talented on and least attractive imo, has become the most successful. Posh is such a try hard fraud. I really can't stand her.

I'd say I've really missed them, but that would be a lie.

Don't much see the point in a reunion, as their schtick was predicated on youthful exuberance.

ohh please make them go away again , didnt they come back for a tour it wasn't a roaring success and that musical got a mauling too, They had some great songs, but by the end of it, the girl power has almost no power by 2000 they were all but spent, and just a shallow vapid vastly inferior marketing tool for feminism. And the songs towards the end were truly dreadful. They weren't girl power they were a man made thatcherite piece of hokum.

What's your definition of 'roaring success'?

It grossed over $70m in ticket sales and over $100m all in.

I was measuring success by means of satisfying accomplishment which that obviously wasn't, Just a lot of old girls from top shop rifling through a set of average at best, europop dross with the occasional diamond in them , i don't really measure success by how much money it makes, success equals hardly anything in the world of music, some of the greatest records ever have never been near the top ten Open you eyes by Marshall Jefferson being just one .

Oh right, you seem to be using a different definition of 'success' to nearly everyone else in the world. Well done you.

Well they sang their tours live and actually all sounded decent enough but the girls never put claim to being the best singers in the world and you comparing them to other artist singing ability makes no sense. The girls no what they are good at and use there strengths to their advantage and my god did it pay off in spectacular fashion so much so that the public still want them.

The artists I quoted above did not have the benefit of autotune and such like in the 80's, either live or in studio.

Bottom line is that the Spice Girls will never match artists like Helen Rogers singing with Direct Drive.
