ED: What will poor Eric do next?

I can see a distraught Eric nicking Val's corpse from the undertakers and stashing it at the B&B, refusing desperate pleas from Finn and David for him to do the right thing and give up the body - especially as the incredible pong is driving all the punters away.

Or....

Will he (after a respectable period of mourning) shack up with Brenda again once Bob is behind bars.

No, no, the thought is too horrible (shudders). Scratch that.

Perhaps he will go in for another mail order Thai bride like the one he had before. Can't remember her name but she caught a duck on the village pond for Eric's dinner IIRC!!

I reckon him and diane may seek comfort and have another night of passion.

Eric and Rodney locked Val and Diane in the Hall of Mirrors, then went on a pub crawl and forgot them. As a result of this, Val died. Can Eric and Rodney be charged with manslaughter?

This. I'm convinced off this.

I wouldn't have thought so from a criminal perspective, not like they knew a helicopter was going to crash into the village... however their own conscious will certainly think that way. I am surprised after they locked them in the hall of mirrors, that they disappeared on an all night bender though away from the village... were they planning on leaving them in there for 24 hours with no food, water or toilet facilities

once upon a time no one would ever have said "what will poor Eric do next" and feel sorry for him

how things change 😀

I would rather they put him with Diane than Brenda but maybe Joanie will be an option

but it will be nice to see a bit of father/son bonding with him and David when they are both alone

Last night's writing was strange. Eric showed no shame for what he had done to his wife, and nobody reminded him of this. Perhaps the writers forgot that Eric was to blame for Val's death.

Shame will come later, along with remorse and self loathing. Last nights reaction was pure shock. No one could have anticipated the crash or the blast. It was an accident, pure and simple.

Eric and David will set up home together and possibly take the shop over again. I hope David finds another love, but I also hope that Eric settles into old age gracefully.
