aww poor Eric, that just made me cry. Sharp contrast to the rest of the week but those scenes with Eric and Val were beautifully done

Is there any originality left in any programme? I think it would be completely impossible to do a story that doesn't involve copying something that has already been done, not just in soap but in anything.

I thought it was a brilliant and very poignant way of allowing Eric and Val to say their goodbyes. An excellent end to a superb week of ED imo.

Thanks! It was always going to split the audience. Some people are never going to appreciate the break in reality and suspend their disbelief, and that's fair enough. On the other hand, there'd have been loads of complaints if there wasn't a fitting tribute to such an iconic Emmerdale character.

It was one episode in which we did something a bit different - a chance for Val and Eric to say goodbye. It was well acted, well written and well directed and a change in pace for the last ep of a crazy week.

Back to normal next week. For now...

I saw it. It was a bit cheesy but I thought the actor who plays Eric was good. Great portrayal of grief.
