Emmerdale - don't be fooled - this won't be the last we see of Val

She was plotting to fake her death, and all we seen was paramedics go in, take ages (presumably she chatted about getting them to help her for some money, shes good at twisting people around her finger) then carry her out covered with a sheet.

Her ghost was clearly either Eric's imagination, or, she really went to say goodbye to him and he assumed it was her ghost.

She's definitely dead. Ross on the other hand ...

No way would she be able to convince that many paramedics - they would lose their jobs and probably face criminal charges if it ever came out A Doctor would also have to sign the Death Certificate so they'd need 'persuading' as well. Finally, she'd need a funeral director involved so yet another bribe involved.

Faking a death when you've actually been the body is much harder than just disappearing.

I did think this could happen. The last we see of Val could be her waiting at an airport. Possibly the day of her funeral!

I saw the huge glass shard fall onto her, she's 100% gone.

She is dead.

I think Eric was going through what everybody does through loss, you imagine if things could have been done differently etc. He was imagining how it would have played out, had she faked her death like he had hoped.

It was beautifully done.

You must have been watching a different show from me. As it fell, it cut to another scene. . Not a drop of blood either.

It was done with Nasty NIck in EE too.

You know I did think this myself. Unless we get a scene in the next week of someone identifying the body...

That was planned with the help of a crooked undertaker.

Val would've had to inform those paramedics of her plan and convince them to help her there and then, which seems highly unlikely to say the least.

It was obviously hanging right over her, this is a whole new level thinking Val is not dead lol

Unless that under the white blanket being carried out was bags of sand I'm with you.

She and Diane were the only two in the hall of mirrors.
We saw them carry a body out, and it clearly wasn't Diane's.
Her ghost said, at least twice, that she was dead.
The actress has done an exit interview and said that, after 18 years, it was time to go.

Val would have to survive that huge piece of glass falling, and persuade the paramedics to cover her over and pretend she was dead. Then she'd have to get treatment and somehow get away - without clothes or money - all without anyone seeing.

Unlikely.
Pandora.

Sadly, that's unlikely.

Spoiler
Eric goes to identify her next week.

Plus the fact Diane had already identified her body. Not sure how anyone can think she is still alive. Ross on the other hand is different.

...and she's not only merely dead, she's really most sincerely dead.

There was no death certificate, no Paramedics or Doctors to bribe. As far as we were told, Charlie went straight to Les who faked the funeral by using another body and paperwork for the Church. Far fetched but just about feasible that one person could be corrupt enough to be paid off. Not the number of people that would have to be involved with Val. We saw several firemen and paramedics. There would be a doctor at the hospital. There will likely need to be a post mortem due to the circumstances and almost certainly a coroner's Inquest. Her body being missing or substituted by another one that didn't have the same injuries, was same gender and age would be noticed by somebody. They can't all be bought off.

The thing is yes for now she has left and as far as we know she is dead. But this is soap land, when they killed off Kim Tate before the episode had even run they had asked Claire King to go back .

Now as long as they do not show us her in the chapel of rest in her coffin they could if they wanted at a later date have her return as there could have been someone else in the maze , someone who sneeked in etc etc , unlikely but as long as they do not show us her dead the ghost scene could have been Erics imaginiation and as I say it is soapland so anything is possible.

Charlie Hardwick was in Emmerdale for 12 years

this thread is sad and ridicolous

Val is clearly dead, the mirror was directly above her so when it fell it would have landed DIRECTLY on her killing her instantly with no hope of survival. Eric goes to identify her body next week, and there is no way in hell anyone could pay off paramedics, doctors, police officers, the investigating detectives, funerals directors etc etc.. to help someone fake a death, the whole idea is just silly

Any thing is possible in soap! If the body isn't hers Eric could have the quick sense and lie to say it is hers. Eric could come home, find a note from Val ( she was able to sneak back to the village as she's in disguise so nobody will recognize her) he will read it and it could say she doesn't want him going with her as his life is in Emmerdale. That's how I would of wrote her exit anyway!

No, she's gone. The actress said that she'd had enough. Eric has to identify her body in this weeks instalments

I'm not sure you can get much more dead than how Val died.

Just shows how soaps have moved to sensationalism that assumption is any death is fake. Jumped the shark too many times.
