Good night for the BBC, but with ITV not even challenging, these ratings get less interesting because there is no excitement. You know BBC1 will rate well, we know ITV will be around 2m.

Soap Ratings

Corrie 6.05m

Emmerdale slowly slipping back to it's usual level over the course of the last few days, but still a good share

Big drop for Corrie - why I refuse to go overboard in praising its Monday ratings and how much better it's doing than EastEnders like some do.

Emmerdale's share is still good.

They just don't have the momentum right now, and as we get closer to their live episode, it doesn't appear to be anything special lined up. The only noteworthy bit of news for it, will be the clash with Bake Off.

I thought eastenders always gained a lot more viewers in the officials and was closer than the two are in the overnights ?

So GBBO is still growing? Wonder how long that can continue?

Pound Shop Wars did very well against Corrie!

Was Pound Shop Wars a repeat ? It has a good rating, higher than The One Brain Cell Show.

Perhaps that was why Corrie took a bit of a hit ?

No it was a new episode. They were promoting it during the North West Regional News. Pound Shop Wars requires less brain cells than The One Show I can assure you.

I didn't know that it had been granted a second series.

Maybe they should create a sitcom based in a £1 shop. It could at least draw on some ideas from the doc and the old BBC sitcom Are You Being Serviced

ITV Media seem a bit quicker at updating the ratings, they've already got yesterday on their web site.

Corrie is airing yet another Thursday episode on 27th August at 8pm. Also an hour long ED on Tuesday 25th, which means there will be a clash between ED and EE on Tuesday 25th AND Thursday 27th as the BBC have opted not to move EE out of the way.

Yep, 17% against Corrie is very good, pegged the soap back for sure. Samuel will be pleased!

It's also been heavily advertised with an annoying trailer done in the style of an in store announcement 'bing bong' etc

They are doing a lot of docs about low brow establishments lately. Pound shops, KFC, Cash Converters, Scrapyards, bookmakers,

ED back to normal figures. Just like EE, its hard to maintain viewers who drop by to just see the special episodes.

Shame they didn't take his advice of a 26 episode order

Not surprised about Corrie. It is beyond awful at the moment.

Also the live episode sounds utterly dull. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3...e-episode.html

Revolving around Calum the panto " gangster"

In fairness Natural Wonders is such a Sunday show in that 8pm slot though. But what would you put on after Bake Off? New Tricks? But that did alright on Tuesday. The Apprentice? But that is good as Autumn viewing and Bake Off likes sweeping up Summer viewers.

Don't get me wrong 4.36M (22.6%) is still brilliant but do you want a mass exodus of 45% of your audience leaving after Bake Off. A program that gets 6M would be more viable.

I don't know it might be a bit "Pie in the Sky" thinking but I am not saying Natural Wonders should not be on but not in that slot.

It's pretty obvious looking at the synopsis of Corrie Live that they thought "let's be dramatic like EastEnders Live rather than doing a big stunt."

Will do well but possibly BGT week numbers.
