Anyone know what the earliest and latest times the Saturday National Lottery draw has ever been? There's a proposal from Swedish TV to move Eurovision to 7pm UK time instead of 8pm, so that more children can watch it and it's not on ridiculously late for Eastern Europe.

I believe the lottery tickets are sold until 7.30pm so they couldn't have the draw before Eurovision, and with the show lasting anything up to 4 hours, the draw could have to wait til 11pm - would that be OK or would the BBC likely have to object to the change because of it? Or, I suppose they could just cut away for the draw during an interval.

It is potentially returnable though. I wonder if it rates badly but is received well if they'd commission a second series for Encore?

I guess Unforgotten will now be on Thursdays. I reckon Prey will get Wednesday's once Midwinter is done.”

There are about 14 Merrily Watkins novels already written so Midwinter of the Spirit has lots of source material for future series. If the series is as good as the books then it should do quite well.

Perhaps they didn't want Unforgotten starting off against DF and getting the raw end of the deal, and with 6 episodes if the 1st ep is knocked the rest will be.

This whole debate about Emmerdale and CS and where to schedule them proves one thing, ITV has become so dependent on them on weekdays before 9pm they don't have much else to show and now they've ramped up CS to 6 episodes a week. I know this is a temporary measure for the RUWC, which has seen Emmerdale going to an hour a week on Thursdays, but somehow I can see this becoming more permanent.
ITV are beaten for ideas and it shows. At least with BBC One, for its numerous faults, they have decided to keep Eastenders to 4 episodes a week and have a more varied schedule in the 7-9 slots, that includes the massive hit GBBO and reasonably popular shows like DIY SOS and Watchdog.

It'll do well, but it will drop in the weeks ahead. Bad acting, ridiculous plot.

You're a hard man to please!

Doctor Foster started slow then picked up. Was really good at the end. I thought it was good.

Worth noting that Emmerdale also has a big week on ITV's 60th week. It actually sounds more exciting than Corrie, with

Spoiler
Robert & Aaron's involvement in Katie's death revealed and Robert is shot (no doubt to be back on his feet after a quick trip to ED's miracle hospital )

While not really my kind of thing I thought Doctor Foster was good and I was hooked by the end.

It ended very strongly I thought. A very tense final quarter hour.

Will you let us know when ED does not have a big week?

Yes when you consider how much the soaps prop up what is still a very poor annual share for the main channel it really does bring home how far its fallen. Scheduling meetings must consist of how many have we got this week and where can we bung em.

Oh and what happened with Bake Off tonight? The showstopper round was effectively scrapped in favour of 2 signatures. Has that happened before? And I stand by my earlier opinion that this year's contestants are so dull compared with last year's.

Spoiler
I would have actually considered switching off if the face pulling delight that is Nadiya had been sent home

Although one of those shows where it'd have been even better if you didn't know whether there were a whole load more episodes to follow. If we'd not known that, I'd have been expecting her to stab him there and then.

The first episode of the new series of Doctor Who gets its premier tonight in Cardiff, followed by a Q&A with Peter, Jenna and Steven Moffat.

No spoilers ..... well we know that there will be.

People in the office are talking about Doctor Forster. I use this as proof that it has done well.

It was a bit bonkers but a good watch - a bit like Luther! Which reminds me when are they airing Luther's new 2 episodes?

I'm hoping Bake Off can break the 10m mark.
Doctor Foster should be around 6.5m, an hour well spent!

Doctor Who also had a press screening a couple of week backs and is on the BBC previews website. And still no major leaks! Remarkable!

Yes but were they saying Doctor Foster was rubbish or they liked it?

It was fun bonkers. Doctor Foster was surprisingly tense too. Something that I didn't expect in a drama about an affair.

Grand Designs returned last night at 9pm so 6m for Doctor Foster maybe optimistic. Bake Off? Not a clue.

New @BBCOne drama series #DoctorFoster launches with 6.1 million viewers last night

That's a pretty good rating. The drama itself was crazy and twisted, plot was questionable but still enjoyable.
