Only thing that was wrong was the after show being on two channels instead of just one channel, You had half hour of it on BBC One and the second half of it on BBC Three which looked very silly.

Granted I don't watch as regularly these days but it's the first I've heard of the Corrie Live episode. Is it marking an anniversary or something and who will it centre around? Is someone leaving / returning? Thanks!

Also News at Ten had a big following in the seventies and early eighties.”

I can't think of many 9.30pm dramas that did well on BBC1 growing up. Casualty did well on Fridays when it moved there for a few series from 1988, before that Big Deal was a hit. But you stayed with ITV, big show at 9pm then News At Ten. The 9pm successes bolstered News At Ten and then people got in the habit of watching News At Ten anyway.

ITV shows were more popular at 9pm plus if you wanted news you just had to wait an hour. Perfect way to end the evening as you didn't change the channel. More difficult in the pre remote control era to switch channels so you rarely did.

Siege or something. I have no real idea.

It's being broadcast on September 23 to mark the 60th anniversary of ITV. ITV went on the air on September 22, 1955, but I suppose that's the best ITV can do.

60th anniversary of ITV. It will centre around the Platts and Callum. Not many details have been revealed though (unusually for Corrie).

What medicine is this person on because he or she may need to change it as The X Factor is the worst show on TV

Cheers.

Alas, the Callum/Sarah/Bethany stuff is one of the reasons I've become a less avid Corrie viewer lately so the Live episode doesn't really hold much interest for me. Bake Off it is!

With BBC1 offering stiffer competition, BBC1 being stronger this year, general TV audience decline on ITV and XF - I think it will be around 8.1m inc+1. The Go Between with still hold around 4m.

Its difficult to damage DA so it will do well enough. Up or down on last year is anyones guess.

These are the ratings for the last week in December 1993 and all of January 1994.
I have included Coronation Street, EastEnders and The Bill for comparison.
(Repeats of Thursday's Emmerdale and Friday's Coronation Street were shown on the following Tuesday and Monday respectively, i.e. in a different ratings week, and so the figures are not known.)
