Its not surpising. Its on its 15th series and next week it will be 7 years since the very first episode. Time to call it a day, or at least rest it for a few years. Its been on 2 series a year and viewers are tiring of it.

Its been declining for the last few years, and it was I think in 2012 when it managed a huge 2m for its 1st ep of a new series.
Yeah I used to love it but find it all a bit tired. Can take it or leave it now..

ED remaining steady during the clash period with EE. Highest Thursday Corrie rating since recent Thursday episodes introduced.

I still watch it but it's not as good as it used to be. Don't show Keith your teeth is probably the only decent game left in recent times.

2 period dramas against each other. So which one will broadcast first. This is going to be a expensive commission for ITV (£10m is the figure being thrown around) so they won't want it to get dented by Poldark.

Actually when you look at the overnights against Vera, Poldark dropped to 5.4m. Its not a monster hit, but it could have some effect on the ITV drama.

I do hope this Thursday Corrie is not permanent.

I think BBC1 want to claim the Downton spot or at least have a presence there. Poldark is popular enough but it's no blockbuster. It will be dented and dent what it faces.

Both at 9pm from September I'd assume.

If it is, then I can't imagine that the storylines will hold up to 6 episodes a week. It is a lot to ask for both viewers to commit to and for those producing the show.

Awful rating for Celebrity Juice. Definitely a show on its last legs. It needs a break.

I think we might see Victoria before then. If it starts filming next month it'll probably be done by around February, so we might see it around April/May time. The Autumn would be quite a long time to sit on it although you never know I guess. Poldark will most likely be next Autumn as filming runs until April (more episodes than Victoria and longer too as the episodes won't have ads, so presumably takes longer to film).

Has there been anything mooted sufficiently grand to replace Downton Abbey? I would have thought Victoria fitted that category but there may be other stuff.

I don't know what the deal with it is, but could ITV be looking at partnering with NBC on the Guilded Age from Fellowes- It's looking like that'll be ready for next autumn, and there was talk it might include Cora and Robert's Courtship as a plot too and act as a semi prequel to Downton- That would be a shout as a replacement I would think?

Katie Oates has been apointed new producer of Corrie. I am so happy.

Unfortunatly Blackburn will still be at ITV, so he will indeed find something else to ruin. The rubbish about his tenure on this link is really claptrap. Stuart BLackburn has overseen the decline of Corrie and sunk it to new depths.

Could this end up on ITV Encore, as it is something that could be seen to raise the profile of the channel, possibly with an eventual run on ITV.

The news is finally out then

I feel sorry for Katie as she has a bit of a mess to clean up, but not as bad as the one that the BBC let Eastenders get into.

Blackburn "moved to other projects" then. *wink wink*

We all know what that means. The same thing happened with Lorraine Newman on EastEnders right down to finding some bollocks to say about how good she was as a producer on the show.

Bad news for Emmerdale, good news for Corrie.

Cannot really think of one standout storyline under Blackburn other than Roy/Hayley. Even then it was plagued with plot-driven tendencies.

It was no doubt a mutual decision between ITV and Stuart Blackburn. ITV telling Blackburn he was going and Blackburn mutually forced to accept it.

The press release is just wording it nicely for him.

Well she cleaned up Blackburn's mess at ED so she can do the same again (albeit he ended his time there with a very successful last few months and live episode - which he could still do at Corrie of course).

Who was it this week on WDYTYA?

Thanks Bushmills.

Boy Meets Girl doesn't really work for me.

WDYTYA was Anne Reid and quite an interesting tale akin to a few that I have researched through genealogy myself - though she was annoying!

As for Boy Meets Girl it is two shows grafted together, that's the problem, Their love story with a bit of humour and their two large families who are even more annoying than Anne Reid was and also not half as funny as they seem to think they are.

Plus it makes bizarre decisions. I am surprised that Rebecca Root was happy with the scene where she punched the transphobic bully on the jaw and flattened him, as that is not exactly credible given she is years post transition. I know they dropped in a line that she used to be a boxer, but I doubt even Kellie Maloney several years on would go around flattening people in the streets.

Though at 1 million that is stable with last weeks 1.1 and it got up to a total of 1.5 million after the second screening. Might still be enough for a recommission.

Now that is some good news for the BBC this week. They have had a few articles written about them with the whole story about the 10pm News - with no mention of clash between BBC Breakfast and GMB every day

Sorry- I'd totally forgotten you'd asked when this programme was returning.

It wasn't in the Programme Information document so it took me by surprise when it appeared in the final listings.
No problem Dancc .... I am just glad it is returning. Really enjoyed the first series.
