Indeed. Interesting to note that despite Odd One In (another Bradley Walsh vehicle!) and Keep it in The Family getting similar audiences KIITF is getting higher shares, showing how total audiences have fallen.

Also apparent how far You've Been Framed has fallen. Casualty too although that is still getting good figures at least. Also Tonight's The Night actually did quite well, I was a bit surprised when it got axed.

I think KIITF is doing OK-ish. 2.8m isn't a good audience but an 18% share is reasonable. It'll be interesting to see if it gets a boost when The X Factor returns in 2 weeks.

Willow on channel5 right now. Hope it does a decent figure for a great film. Does anyone know when was last on tv?

Bit of a drop for ITV's news between '88 and '89. If the Ratings Thread had been around then, we'd have been scrapping Saturday night news.

The girl star (from Fat Diary) was on 5Live on Tuesday afternoon promoting it. They played a dire clip and the presenters were pretending it was funny.

Highest rating of all though(ITV's barnstorming News aside) is arguably the easiest/ laziest to schedule-Carry On Girls 11.1 million on BBC1.
I cant actually remember Michael Barrymores show on BBC1 (cant remember much of a BBC connection) and its interesting to sea ( ) Seaside Special back after its 80's rebirth- though being beaten by ITV's own Summertime variety show. Great score for a repeat of Tales of the Unexpected, another big brand for ITV.

Many shows struggling to make ten million in summer, the modern equivalent is the same, but in winter.

There is no record of it being shown on any TV channel according to Overnights.tv since 2005 or earlier.

Doom premiered to 18.90 million on BBC1 in 1987 just shy of the 19.30 million which saw Raiders of the Lost Ark on ITV in 1984. (both sourced from Televisions Greatest Hits). My favourite though is definitely Last Crusade which just has everything imo-anyone know what its premiere figure was?

EDIT: I think 1984 was the year that a repeat of Porridge topped the Christmas week ratings(27/12/84 at 8.20pm). TVH has this as 19.40 million just ahead of Raiders-extraordinary performance. Porridge is brilliant but I do wonder what ITV must have had as opposition that an almost decade old programme made such an impact.

Some fantastic performances there and you have to say a great schedule for BBC1- and very interesting to wallow back in the eighties. MASH on BBC2 with 9.65 million. Huge figure for a repeat of Russ Abbott and eye popping scores for films. I think we can see why the Raiders collection has endured so well (4 did well in modern terms too)

It wasn't well promoted at all.

Good point that ITV's summer nights have been dismal for years now. Yes, KIITF is getting similar ratings to previous shows on that summer slot, but all of them were swiftly axed - even Your face Sounds Familiar, which, if memory serves, was getting better ratings than the latest Bradley Walsh vehicle.

Yes but they are getting 4/5 times more than C4 and C5,thats all that matters.

If by 4 or 5 times you actually mean 2 or 3 times then yes, otherwise no. Unless my Maths is failing me, of course...

Surely, all that matters is the opportunity cost of launching expensive entertainment shows that don't rate and don't become hits, which don't then get moved from summer to Autumn, which don't then help anchor that prime schedule and that don't help the channel improve its audience share, which is markedly down on previous years...?

But ok, if you think that beating C4/C5 is all that matters, fine.

In you world then, Nature Nuts is doing its job, because, with 1.5m viewers, it's still doing better than the other commercial channels. Do me a favour.
