@ Steve Williams, one person who will certainly be out of a job today will be Rosie, The Sun's rugby world cup mascot( a Page 3 girl in a tight fitting England shirt). I suppose it will be back to football for the redtops, as this is what most of their readers prefer, and also the casual fans will drift away.
It's not really a sport outside of the two big tournaments that has much interest away from South Wales. This explains why all the club matches are on Sky or BT, as the ratings are so low, and highlights shows have either been on BBC Two( Rugby Special) or on ITV 4.
BBC2 Wales and BBC2 Northern Ireland do quite a lot of live club rugby.

The Andrew Marr Show (BBC) vs The Peston Show (ITV) - http://www.theguardian.com/media/201...litical-editor

EDIT - Wonder if we could get Good Morning Britain on Sundays in some form as a result of the above? Having kids TV then politics just seems.... odd.

I assume the infamous John Whittingdale will tell Andrew Marr he has to move his show to avoid the clash with Peston.

I wonder why the BBC have bothered with the NFL again? They keep dabbling with it but whoever has done it in the past have not been able to make a success of it - I don't really see what is in it for them.

Isn't the point of the BBC to give exposure to genres which may not be such a success elsewhere? That's the benefit of the license fee.

I saw a bit of it - seemed that given the match feed was CBS (and we know how the US loves to go to adverts every few mins) it probably would have been logistically difficult for a UK commercial channel to air live. Instead the Beeb cut back to the box for chatter and analysis. Thought the host was very competent and natural - haven't seen him before.

Is Christine Bleakley finally done with ITV now?
She did a runner with Adrian Chiles for more money and is finished. Chiles probably has his football background to fall back on, but Bleakley is stuffed, Daybreak failed, DOI has been cancelled and a couple of her other ITV ventures have been one offs that didn't do much.
I can't see why anyone would move across these days. Ant and Dec did it in the pre digital era, same as Phil Schofield, and established themselves quickly, but these days it's so much harder unless you read the news.

I guess it was only a matter of time before ITV tried to resurrect their own political show. After all on a Sunday, it must be a bit embarrassing having to show BBC or Sky News exclusives but nothing from your own organisation.

(Hope he does the show in his Pyjamas....)

Not really, they moved from small kids presenting on CBBC after Byker Grove to blockbuster saturday morning show on ITV. ITV made their names and there they stayed (with the exception of two series of a gameshow for BBC).

I try to avoid news shows on a Sunday because they're always full of the politcal interviews and sport. Cheaper than finding real news I suppose.

Has the Sunday Strictly results ever out-rated the Saturday performance show since the split? I wonder if tonight might be a first.

I found X Factor overly negative and draining tonight. A few girls names were spoiled on threads (non spoiler ones) so everything was predictable. Not enjoyable and too brutal. And I've actually enjoyed most of this series.

Nat Coombs?

He was C4's main anchor for Sunday Night Football.

Very underrated broadcaster, and a really nice guy too.

This was done in the nineties when a move between the big two was easier and could guarantee a big audience. It's not really the same now and I'd think a move from ITV to BBC would work out better, as BBC One is the only channel that has big ratings all year round( in relative terms as ratings are a lot smaller these days).
Ant and Dec and Scofe knew they were better away from their CBBC past and saw ITV as a bigger deal as it was doing well at the time. Bleakley and Chiles merely went for money and ended up nowhere, as they didn't realise ITV's day had passed.

I Agree totally with this, The X Factor has no feel good moments and no light hearted moments, I feel its just relentless Sobbing and upping the Ante, I Guess The X Factor producers know that the live shows rate badly and they have tried to manipulate the show with what they think will be more Tempting, Gripping & Exciting for the viewers to tune into, I think that it will back fire on them and the 6 chair challenge will be far too dragged out and by the end of Judges houses a lot of viewers will have decided not to carry on watching

I tried to watch after SCD, far too unpleasant for my taste, I know the music industry is brutal, but the crows was like a baying mob whipped into a frenzy- I could only stomach about 15 mins of a poor girls heartbreak and couldn't do it, and they're really dragging it out over three weeks- Not keen although I think it will beat SCD tonight, it has an hour and 15 mind without a clash to build the audience and started first which is aboit as much of a gift of scheduling as they could hope for

I am expecting SCD and XF to be lower than people think.
