Several times over the years. I don't think that happened last series though. Strictly results are unlikely to rate higher tonight.

But you never know.

From Darkness might struggle going forward judging to some comments on Twitter.

But you never know.

Really? I need to sharpen my observational skills. And memory for that matter. I wouldn't be surprised to see Strictly higher than last night, with a beneficial lead in and slightly lesser competition... though the crossover could hurt it, I guess.

You have to wonder if From Darkness has been sent there to be buried.

Rugby union in England tends to be most popular in rural areas, the Home Counties, the West Country and parts of the Midlands. I know it's a generalisation, but an autumn friendly won't attract many takers in somewhere like Liverpool.”

Well, Rugby is the national sport of Wales. The game against Australia is bound to have the whole country glued to their screens.

I think X Factor might nudge Strictly. Predicting 7.3m for XF and 7.1m for SCD. We shall see!

Heh, I'm rubbish at predicting.

#strictlycomedancing kept its winning ways with 7.9m/38% on Sat, and 7.8m/33.2% on Sun. @MrPeterAndre @carolkirkwood http://www.overnights.tv

New BBC drama #FromDarkness managed 4.1m/17.8%, losing out to #DowntonAbbey which drew 7.5m/32.4% from 9pm http://www.overnights.tv

I would go for a flip around of those numbers

Actually that is a good retention for Strictly - 7.9 down to 7.8 for Sunday.

I wonder what TXF got. It might not be too bad for them.

Looking at the shares for last night I think XF could still be high.

That's disappointing for Strictly - last year also had an X Factor clash and Strictly rose slightly from the live show. With it dented by the rugby on Saturday you'd think it'd rose again.

Not bad then actually.

Not really following this tread but it seems SCD is on par with the dying XF? Is that how we see it or is there a rugby excuse? Because we all know rugger fans love a bit of Peter Andre dancing right?

Good for X Factor last night but I still can't believe how low the figures have gone.

That actually looks pretty good for TXF to me.

Is there really much crossover between the SCD audience and the rugby audience ? Still seems to be a good figure for Strictly last night.

Is that figure including +1 ?

The figure is identical to the one posted for Strictly - both the same total number and share.

Edit - I have just seen the numbers posted which clarify.

Forgetting of course that last year there was no x factor clash on the equivalent Sunday last year. The results were against Sunday Night at the Palladium which got 3m.
Selective memory much

Higher than expected for xfactor isn't that the highest for a Sunday so far. Considering it was against scd that's brilliant.

The xfactor bashers will be disappointed.

Yes surprised the head start and the extra hour didn't boost it more.

Perhaps the latter half was boosted by people tuning in for Drownton Abbey

Can see From the Darkness dropping a fair bit next week, seems to be universal dislike of it in most newspapers today.

God things must be desperate when scrapping 7m in October against a prerecorded results show with (6 minutes of new content) is seen as a triumph for Mr Cowell. It didn't even win the slot despite a head start.
I hadn't realised that things had got so bad. At least it beat Antiques Roadshow I suppose.
