The consolidated numbers already include catch-up viewing via a TV.

I wonder what Glenn will think about Andre appearing on BBC1's flagship show?”

I wonder if we will get a similar post when IAC starts announcing its contestants?

When football ratings are compiled, are they just for people watching at home, as I did go out for a drink last night and the bar of the pub had about 20 people watching Man U? I think sometimes you could probably double the officials for football.
Also no longer being on ITV could see more people going out to watch games now.

I thought last night was the funniest ep in ages

New Tricks was doing less well last year because it had tougher competition. This year the BBC have given it its best lifeline by putting it at 9pm on a Tuesday. The most competition its likely to face now is nothing above 2m.

Why do ITV continue to put factual on Tuesday at 9pm? Over and over again, It . Does . Not . Work. Why keep doing it? Especially such niche factual.

Yes, just home viewers. I expect football ad spots are sold at a premium to reflect the pub audience though - then again, how much notice of ads do people in a pub take?

Yeah I know the drop was really big but it's still one of their most successful drama shows. I think they should have given another series to let the full new cast bed in before axing it.

Don't worry, with most of those expensive football rights a thing of the past, you can soon expect a cavalcade of riotous comedy and sumptuous drama to fill those Tuesday slots.

We generally get loads of posts saying it is the worst line up ever every year with lots hoping this will be the year people stop watching.

16% of Emmerdale's audience (exc +1) watched in HD, more than usual, leading to my underestimate based on the SD-only figure.

Not a bad start for BT's Champions League coverage, comparing favourably with what it used to get on Sky IIRC.

It'll be interesting to see how the free games perform for BT Showcase.

They would want people to watch the simulcast on BT Sport Europe Red Button as BT Showcase is just a box ticking thing.

X Factor confirmed for 8.00-9.30pm on August 29th and 8-9pm on Sunday 30th.

Be interesting to see how it does. Been a while since they've done a 90 minute launch, they normally do 75-80. ITV have released a new trailer featuring show content:

https://t.co/psFEwLS7xs

They do seem to be pushing the lighter, more fun angle. They've even brightened up the set a bit. It does seem a bit all or nothing this year.

Also Lionel Ritchie is a good booking for Life Stories. If the show can't get an audience with him then it won't with anyone.

Not sure what we'll see tonight. Awful weather could push it back above 9m. Trying to play down expectations in case it settles in the mid 8m region.

Then it's a good thing you're here, fighting the heroic, lonely fight against everyone else on the thread (who are, of course, rabidly anti-ITV).

I actually cant wait for X factor and life Stories with Lionel Richie should be a good weekend for itv that weekend but I do wonder if ITV should have life stories on a Saturday night after x factor and then after its run is done have Jonathan Ross in the same slot as they both attract similar audiences

ITV have actually increased their drama budget and will be doing more drama output next year.

X Factor always launches well. It will this year too with little competition. I saw a teaser trailer for Strictly after tonight's Bake Off. Finally some big shows are returning over the next few weeks.

The Daily Mail did run the BGT story on its front page yesterday. Not a very effective example of trying to hush down the story then.

That Anne Robinson programme after Bake-Off I think might surprise us in ratings. Light factual is not something I normally enjoy but found it quite watchable. Think it could well rate in the 4.5m-5.5m range.

That X Factor trailer does have a BGT feel to it. Complete with Olly and Caroline at the side of the stage in the Ant & Dec role.
