Farewell #NewTricks: the popular BBC drama bowed out with a slot-winning 4.5m/21.6% at 9pm on BBC1 @mouthwaite http://www.overnights.tv”

Possibly a split of the audience there with Lewis.

Sad for a show to bow out like it has. It did look like it was doing so well this year. I still believe that they should bring it back for a couple of specials around Christmas each year. A Christmas New Tricks on a Boxing Day once a year would be quite nice.

Only 1.68m (8.4%) exc. HD for ITV's Eternal Glory. Ouch.

Lewis did OK for ITV by Tuesday FlopZone standards, managing 3.17m (15.2%) exc. HD.

CSI: Cyber began fairly reasonably for C5 in the 10pm hour with an audience of 0.72m (4.8%) watching the first of the two episodes.

That's pretty bad for a new show.

H was right when he said that it wouldn't do very well.

The way Broadcast split out the ratings is irritating. I wait for the ITV ratings to come out later in the day.

And Lewis will be higher than that with HD I think.

We can safely say it will be barely over 2m including HD and excluding +1, if that.

BBC3's race season continued to perform very strongly last night.

We Want Our Country Back pulled in 0.89m (4.3%) at 9pm. It was fifth in the slot, beating C5's Body Donors (0.81m/3.9%).

Elsewhere in the slot, ITV2's Tricked returned for a new series (0.28m/1.4%) and was narrowly pipped by the return of E4 import Empire (0.29m/1.4%).

Canals: The Making of a Nation dipped slightly to 0.70m (3.6%) for BBC Four, but was still comfortably the most watched multichannel show at 8pm.

BIB - yes … and whether those people are part of ITV's mainstream audience.

Throwing Jekyll against SCD is a bizarre move. I can only assume they are hoping to ape Merlin's success against TXF - but Merlin was allowed to grow and mature in a way never allowed by ITV with any of its shows.

It rather smacks of yet another scheduling botch by Peter Fincham and his team (which will doubtless be blamed on the BBC).

The irony is that if they held Jekyll back to January, it would have a lot less in the way of competition, and it wouldn't have played on the same night as DW.

Then Beowulf, which doesn't need to play in the first quarter of 2016, could air in the spring, again with no meaningful competition, and establish itself in the year DW will be off air.

No sign of ITV2's new show Glitchy in the channel's top 3, by the way. That means it rated worse than the 8:30 repeat of Two and a Half Men (0.23m/1.1%).

Only 160k. Ouch.

No doubt it dragged The Job Lot down with it which they stupidly put after it at 10.30.

There are certainly some bizarre decisions being made at ITV with their scheduling. When the rugby has finished, what will they show on a Sunday at 6pm? They could show it on a Sunday opposite different skewing opposition on BBC One and have TXF following straight after, or Strictly allowing viewers to turn over to BBC One if they watch the results show.

Personally I would throw YBF or The Chase pre TXF on a Saturday evening and protect their new show as much as possible.

Very poor. It's been a testing autumn for ITV2 so far. Everything seems to be down and the new shows aren't firing at all.

It'll be interesting to see if Release the Hounds gets a Gogglebox boost this week though, if such a thing exists. It was featured quite extensively on Friday's episode and positively received.

No more than it deserved. I thought it was cheap and dreary.

It looked alright from the trailer and D.M.N. noted a positive social media reaction last night. So I expected more for it in all honesty, at least for the first episode anyway.

But ITV can't have had much confidence in it to put it there, and they were proved right to expect little.

Has the new series of job lot started or was it a repeat?

New series:

Quote:
“SITCOM: The Job Lot
On: itv2 (6)
Date: Tuesday 6th October 2015 (Already shown)
Time: 22:30 to 23:00 (30 minutes long)

New series of the sitcom set in a West Midlands job centre. When Karl finds a pregnancy test in Natalie's drawer, he assumes that she is pregnant and sets about proving what a great father he can be, but his over-the-top efforts have the opposite effect, especially since the test is Trish's and not hers. Meanwhile, Angela brings her cat - which really is pregnant - into work.

What *has* happened to ITV2's audience this season? It appears to have collapsed!

Is it a knock-on effect of no-one watching the main channel? Is it because the channel's ost its big reality banker Towie and people don't know about its new shows?

Everything seems to be rating 50% down on last season.

And speaking of TOWIE, its return to ITV Be with yet another Marbs special on Sunday did less than 410k according to ITV Media, failing to make the m/c top 10.

The previous series opened with 516k back on June 14, so that's at least 20% down as well.

It's because ITV want their own little version of BBC One on a Saturday Night.

May I suggest ITV to launch a Corrie spinoff after X Factor? Called Weatherfield General?

Nothing like Casualty, mind.

Positive social media reaction = ratings disaster - is this a new DS rule?
