I am not bemused by NT success, but it has done better this series having faced nothing from ITV. Last year against Grantchester it was dropping to low to mid4m.

Yes I agree if ITV put decent programmes on Tuesday viewers will come, but nothing bar drama has done remotely well in the 9pm slot (bar IAC). The Bear Grylls series last week was good factual, but did poorly because it just did not capture the viewers interest.

So if ITV put Grantchester on Tuesday at 9pm, would it do as well on Monday? Over the series it might start to grow as the weeks went on, but woulnd't be as high.

Viewers are simply not used to watching ITV on Tuesday. It has been barren for so long. Double factual, followed by double factual.”

Until recently, IAC was dropped some Tueadays for football. Not sure where you're coming from

No! It's not about good programming, its about the scheduling - don't you read this thread?

Any figures for the last (ever?) episode of Boy Meets Girl on BBC 2 yet?

The thread on it is waiting with - well, about as much enthusiasm as the viewing figures suggest.

The BBC though will not have the same pressure to renew now that they have cast a 21 year old FtM trans actor as a new character - Kyle - in East Enders. He will be on screen in a few weeks.

Bruce Forsythe's fall and hospitalisation as he was about to film before an audience his (Christmas scheduled?) 'Hall of Fame' show with Catherine Tate and Alexander Armstrong seems to mean this will now be delayed to some time next year. Though he seems to have only suffered facial cuts and minor concussion thankfully.

At least he is ok

It's always a worry when someone of his age takes a tumble.

I guess this also means that he will possibly not be doing the Christmas Strictly either.

Take a break Brucie

A good start for Unforgotten. ITV drama doing well on Thursday. You see? It CAN be done!

Yes, as I said last night this was surprisingly good. ITVs best new drama since Broadchurch. Though fairly routine in its concept it was well told and directed and had that undefined something that just makes it work like Bake Off.

I expect series 2 will be commissioned before the month is out.

Beating WDYTYA? is not the feat it used to be but that is still not a walkover show to go up against (with Cradle to Grave on BBC 2 as well).

So ITV will think they have a returning hit here. Which is good news.

That's good for Unforgtten - I thought it might be a bit less than that against WDYTYA (although I know the number includes +1).

It's going ahead with Alexander Armstrong hosting

I think that's a pretty average rating for Unforgotten. I said it might not do as well, but it would've been nice to see it over 6m. However given its got a good resonce it should stay at least over 4m next week against TA, although will drop for the 1st showing as BBC1 have no +1.

POG dogs did well, up on last series I think, which got 3.9m against DIYSOS. And up on Flockstars with 2.3m more viewers.

One interesting fact: In 2013 on Thursday ITV launched Breathless with 3.4m, in 2014 ITV launched Chasing Shadows with 3.58m, in 2015 ITV launched Unforgotten with 4.7m. Going in the right direction at least, and last night's drama was better than both of those.

Yes and no. It was only 0.2m ahead of ED.

Considering how much of a battering EE has received over recent weeks, to be above 6 million following a clash on Tuesday is good news for them.

Hopefully now both Emmerdale and Eastenders can build themselves up again - Eastenders following the clashes and Emmerdale following it's Best Soap win.

Looking at the week and excluding the clash, Corrie has been the one that has dropped so far. Emmerdale has been pretty stable across the week (share wise)

I'm sad to say it as I really enjoyed Boy Meets Girl, and found it much better than cradle to grave but I don't think it's done enough for a recommissioned which saddens me, as it was a genuinely warm and gentle romantic comedy with the twist not played on as much as I thought it would be
