It's a matter of taste. I thought tonight's was rather good actually.
As for next week; one word: Zygons!!!

It might have been a joint decision but there can be no doubt that ITV wouldn't want one of their major brands associated with TalkTalk right now.

Doctor Who was a good episode of Sci-Fi, answering the question of what it might be like to live forever, its not going to find favour of the general public, who wont want that kind of thing on a Saturday night. Zygons and a sequel to Day of the Doctor, should be more of a crowd pleaser.

Possibly. Wonder if they'll be back later in the run or if they'll replace them? I can't imagine them going through the rest of the series with no sponsor.

I remember Samsung were plastered across the live shows last year in some sort of product placement deal. Wonder if they'll take over as main sponsor?

very off topic, but I was in a Thorntons today, and they seem to have gone X-Factor mad, boxes of their toffee, labelled up with X-Factor, and the fact its sponsored by Talk Talk, never mind the current troubles Talk Talk have, are they really paying enough to have their logo included on other peoples products like that?

The X Factor finishes seven minutes early so beware of tape-checked and non tape-checked figures tomorrow.

X Factor just finished 7 minutes early, so expect a fairly sizeable tapechecking adjustment tomorrow.

X Factor improved thankfully after the weakest category the groups.

Do the Talk Talk promos really fill 7 minutes?!

Someone just asked that on The X Factor thread. Probably a couple of minutes (15 seconds per promo and I think there were eight internal breaks and one at the end. I don't think the one at the start should count really).

They were a good effort imo for a sponsorship but I am sick of them after so many years.

If there were 8 internal breaks and the promo last 15 seconds, that's 30 seconds per ad break and 4 minutes altogether.

They should keep the audience in the dark on XF as they usually do - I don't like seeing the great unwashed

Actually, good point. You're right, four minutes of time taken out would actually get the show back on track time-wise.

I agree I thought it was intriguing but the last 2 eps have not been as good as the first 4 although next weeks looks better as you say.

Exactly. Bit pointless having sponsorship bumpers with a website address if said website has been temporarily closed down.

If only Highlander and others hadn't gotten there first and done it better.

Another Saturday, another terrible Dr Who ep. Your plan is working Moff.

Isn't the bit in bold a problem when you put it on a Saturday night and want the general public to watch as well as the fans?

I really liked the episode, but you're right in that I would suspect these episodes are being written for the BBC America audience rather than Saturday night BBC1

XF was very weird tonight. It didn't work IMO. Olly and Caroline were terrible. Dermot made it look so easy. Obviously its not.

DW was awful tonight. This series has been very poor. They need to ditch Capaldi as he is really killing it and Moffat needs to go too. He's really lost the plot with the show.

First X Factor I have watched since the launch and I didn't like it. The studio stuff didn't add anything that wasn't in the old format.

And as usual it has given me a migraine. The crowd on this is even worse than the Big Brother eviction lot.

I do agree with that.

that is always going to be the cost of having a show like Doctor Who, with a large US audience, and which needs the import money.

Capaldi is amazing, and can be amazing in the role, however I agree Moffatt needs to go, way too focused on the companion and the idea of the Doctor no longer being the Doctor, this series has redeemed his Doctor ALOT, however that should not have been needed in the first place, Moffatt should go, and they do need to decided if his Doctor will ever be appercaietd by the public

Capaldi doesn't suit this role at all. I think ratings are down because the public just haven't warmed to him like the other Doctors. I have seen every episode of New Who and pretty much all of Old Who and for me this is the worst its been since the revival in 2005. I know several people who have given up on this series and I feel like I'm only watching now out of loyalty to the show.
