Westworld (1973) 8/10
Think Stepford Wives, Boys From Brazil.

Watched this to remind myself that the original premise was nothing like the mind-warp that the new TV show looks to be.

Planes: Fire & Rescue [2014]. Director: Roberts Gannaway

6/10

Enjoyable Disney sequel.

*******
Pawn [2013]. Director: David A. Armstrong

5/10

One of those crime dramas where the bits are shown out of order so you have to gradually put the plot together. Star Michael Chiklis adopts a cockney accent for some reason.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (2009) - Loved seeing it on the big screen again.

I seriously think this is the best set of movies that have been released in my lifetime. I was born in 1996.

Sunset Boulevard - Used to be one of my favourite films, but it seemed to drag a bit this time around. I'll probably give it another go a few years up the line.

Book of Eli - Reasonable, but not one I'll be re-watching. 6/10

Team America: World Police - Extremely funny. 9/10

A View To A Kill (1985) 5.5/10

For me the second half let it down.

Look Who's Talking [1989]. Director: Amy Heckerling

5/10

A one gag comedy.

******
The Inbetweeners 2 [2014]. Directors: Damon Beesley & Iain Morris

7/10

The usual mix of poop and puke gags, given an Australian setting. Great fun.

*******
Bad Karma [2012]. Director: Suri Krishnamma

5/10

Ray Liotta playing another ex criminal blackmailed into doing one last job. An Australian setting for this one too.

*******
Look Who's Talking Too [1990]. Director: Amy Heckerling

4/10

How to make a one gag comedy even worse: add Roseanne Barr to the (voice) cast.

*******
Elstree Calling [1930]. Director: Adrian Brunel (sketches by Alfred Hitchcock)

5/10

A rare film record of various music hall acts (some quite dated) intercut with a rather dull (Hitchcock directed) comedy scenario featuring Gordon Harker trying to tune a primitive TV set to watch the show. Some sequences shot in an early colour process.

Bite - 5/10 - Low budget horror flick with some hit & miss makeup effects & acting. Its basically kinda like The Fly but with a woman.

Innocent Blood -6/10- Definitely not as good as AWIL, shame.

Viy -6/10- Film had some pretty good effects and creature design, second half became a borefest unfortunately.

Three Wishes [1995]. Director: Martha Coolidge

6/10

Patrick Swayze as a tramp who transforms the life of a fatherless family. Corny and predictable fantasy ending.

*******
101 Dalmations [1996]. Director: Stephen Herek

5/10

Tedious live action remake.

The Holiday [2006]. Director: Nancy Meyers

5/10

Country-swapping chick flick as Cameron Diaz finds love in England and Kate Winslet heads to LA for hers.

*******
Funny Face [1957]. Director: Stanley Donen

7/10

Stylish musical with 57 year old Fred Astaire still having enough charm to romance 28 year old Audrey Hepburn.

*******
Magnum Force [1973]. Director: Ted Post

7/10

Scripted by John Milius and Michael Cimino, Dirty Harry Callahan takes on a bunch of rookie cops who make him look like a gentle liberal do-gooder.

Hardcore Henry. Managed about 40 minutes of this before switching off. I knew trhe first person perspective would annoy me, but felt I could put up with it if the movie was good enough, but it was dreadful. Ther story was flimsy, and the actiing was just awful. It was very much like a video game, with inter-level scenes to drive the story, but those scenes were so badly acted and that's why I switched off. I'd rather spend 5 hours watching someone play a video game than watch another 5 minutes of this movie.

Westworld. Still as brilliant as I remember, with an amazing performance from Yul Brinner.

Life Of Brian. Perfect.

Was this on TV? It's one of my favourite John Landis movies but it's very rarely shown and not easy to get hold of.
