High spirits
Supernatural comedy from the 80's. Really good and fun.

Drácula (Spanish language version)[1931]. Director: George Melford

6/10

Shot on the same sets after the Browning version had wrapped for the night. Lupita Tovar (who at 106 is still with us) makes a spirited Eva (the Mina role renamed) but Carlos Villar in the title role spoils the show with his goofy performance.
Alas, Lupita died at the weekend:

Anyone seen The Legacy? I watched it on the horror channel the other day, it was really good set in Britain.

The addams family
I didn't enjoy this as a 20 something year old compared to when i loved it as a kid and a teen. But Anjelica Huston will always be the ultimate Morticia Addams for me until the end of time.

Copycat (1995) - First re-watch since it first came out on VHS. Not a bad film, although I didn't find Holly Hunter as a cop all that convincing.

Hocus Pocus
Nothing really bad about the film but it just didn't entertain me at all.

I thought it good, for its time.

(Day 39)
Miracle on 34th Street (1973)
This was TV movie, it was OK, no were near as good as the other two version.

(Day 38)
Get Santa (2014)
This was surprisingly good, I didn't expect much from it, I find it a bit different from normal family Xmas movie.

I did laugh a number of times.

Cry Wolf - Great twist at the end
The Babadook - Sensational acting. Brilliant plot. Avoids cliches.

Daft Adam Sandler film that only watched all the way through as nothing better to do. I do quite like Adam Sandler films but not really this one.

Thor 7/10
Nothing greater than bringing some legend to life so that the viewers can constitute what made him a legend. But this is,of course, Marvel's angle. Film is not a bad effort, but the reversal in Thor's character was not really convincing reasons- to the extent that he does(film's fault) , nor is the story of the frost giant brother. 'My aim all along was to rival the legacy of my brother'. The film deliberately has the brother's motives unclear, but when revealed is not wholly convincing. It possibly made the motives too obtuse throughout, so that when it actually was unveiled this is why is not wholly convincing.

Dad's Army (2016)

It was always going to be compared to the long running, much repeated TV show, but I thought it was a fun little movie.

A streetcar named desire
A truly masterclass in acting. And one of the best dramatic films ever to be made imo. Also includes two iconic performances from Brando and Leigh.
