(Day 1) Santa workshop (1932) rea,ly good for its time
Day 2) :Miracle on 34th Street (1973) OK TV movie, not as good as the others.
(Day 3) Get Santa (2014) really good and funny
Day 4) Christmas Every Day (1996) not bad but better then Christmas do over
(Day 5) Christmas with the kranks (2004) I enjoyed it!
Day 6
I've seen few since the last time I posted !
(Day 6) Jingles all the way
(Day 7) A christmas carol (1971) 25 min short, I liked this version, I thought it really well done, animation was really good, one of the best version.

(Day 8) A Christmas Carol (1969 ) this another animated movie, it's 45 mins long,* I didn't this one that much

( Day 9) Jack frost 2* (1999 ) this was bad but it was funny

(Day 10) A christmas carol* (1997)* this was another animated version, this was 65 mins long, this had musical moments, I thought the cartoon was decent

(Day 11) the midnight snack (1941) you can't go wrong with Tom and Jerry lol

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer (1964).

A beautiful stop-motion animation which is , it turns out, an anerican christmas institution.

Utterly charming, and a classic i'd never seen.

(inspired some very good skits on mad TV- especially A Box of Gifts Now)
I used to watch this with my children many years ago Lovely little film. Wasn't Burl Ives the snowman?

Death becomes her
Brilliant. So funny and camp. Meryl, Goldie and Bruce were amazing. The last part of the film is solely just those three and the chemistry between all three is so dynamic. Would happily watch it again. I might buy it on dvd in the near future.

Loophole - obscure British heist movie with Martin Sheen and Albert Finney, very formulaic and pretty dull.

Run Lola Run - a film I had never seen. Very inventive, great score and a decent story.

Eight Days A Week - very good documentary that primarily focuses on the Beatles grueling touring schedule in the sixties. Though much of the story is known there is some new material, archive interviews, and some very good live performances.

Cherry 2000 - another movie I had never seen before. A bit of a cult offering (I loved director Steve De Jarnatt's Miracle Mile), but I was not as entertained as I expected. Story revolves around the notion of realistic sex dolls, and one guys determination to find a replacement for his beloved model, and he encounters Melanie Griffiths bounty hunter along the way, and a strange band of villains led by the always entertaining Tim Thomerson. Some good set pieces though, especially one involving a car being dangled over the Grand Canyon.

The Magnificent Seven 1960

Classic western and not without reason. A little simplistic and leisurely in pace, but the cast are on cracking form and John Sturges' unfussy, clear-cut direction a balm to the eyes. If old school Hollywood were a seashell, you'd hold it to your ear and hear the score. 8/10

btw - not sure if this was a restoration job, but the print Sky have got hold of looks pretty damn fine.

Drive

Nicolas Winding Refn's nitro-fuelled thriller, with a tremendous turn from Ryan Gosling and a soundtrack that pummels the senses. In some ways similar to Paris, Texas - the outsider's perspective on the doomed American Dream. But you question the intent. As dazzling as it is, I do wonder if the artifice of its surface merely reflects the artifice at its core. 7/10

The witches of eastwick - Yawn
Bridget Jones's baby - The trailer bored me but thankfully the film was a pay off. It's less ott and more grounded than the second film. And going by the final scene, i think they could really squeeze one more film out.

Sausage party
The sexual innuendos get old very fast and while the plot seems a bit interesting at first, the more it progresses, the worse the film gets,

Ghostbusters 2016
No where near as bad as people made it out to be. I was never keen on the original two films. But i liked this. All four women were brilliant in their roles and Chris Hemsworth stole the movie as the dumb secretary.

Nice Guys was the last movie I watched. Didn't fancy watching it at the cinema and wasn't fussed renting it but I have to say when I did it was well worth it, a lot better than I had dared hope for.

Previous to that The Big Short was really good and my surprise of the year so far has been The Hunt for the Wilder People, absolutely brilliant. Looking forward to catching Arrival and Dr Strange before it leaves the cinema. Actually might even do that tonight.

Worst film of the year Now You See Me 2. What a huge let down after the first being very original and well worth using up the credit on my vue card.

Ab Fab the movie
I thought this was terribly disappointing. I liked the plot and it was nice seeing what the characters have been up to but i didn't find it funny at all. Jennifer Saunders has apparently said this is the last we'll ever see of Ab Fab and hopefully she sticks to her word. It's best to leave it for good now. The spark was diming in the 2011/2012 specials anyway.

Jason Bourne

A big fan of Matt Damon and I love him as Jason Bourne but this was a bit flat. Plenty of action just needed a bit weak on the plot.

May be time to call it a day.
